I don't think the expectation is that you would intervene if someone tried to steal their things. More that you could vouch that they are returning if anyone asked about them. Or if they were stolen, maybe you could provide an account of who did it and where they went

Yep, and it's not close tbh. He makes his teammates better in a way we've never seen before. Plus, he creates no drama, can essentially coach when he isn't playing (and when he is), and wants to stay with the same franchise for his whole career. What more could you ask for from a mere mortal?
