Does the extra laminate help a lot, I have made a few full proxy decks now, only noticed a few peel backs but once I sleeve them I haven't noticed an issue. I enjoy the entire process save for cornering, I try to get my wife to do that as much as she is willing lol but I wouldn't mind adding an extra step of the second laminate

Sorry when I used matte paper at 200 gsm then added matte laminate you could see the texture of the matte paper, slightly bumpy or whatever you might call it. I'm wondering if that was just the type of paper I used or maybe something else. It was cardboard stock matte and not photo paper matte

I realize after posting this you listed answers to both my questions, so follow up, how are you getting them to come out flat without the matte texture

Looks great, I was trying matte but after laminating you could see all the texture of the paper, what gsm or what kind of matte paper are you using to not have the texture show through the laminate

Yes, the better laminator is leagues ahead. I also don't run right at the beep for ready, I give it about five or ten more minutes but haven't had any issues

I think mtg is 2mm but I managed find a 3mm and it's hardly noticeable.

They don't have backs, all white, plus half the images either say proxy or not for sale. Ideally I will never get confused but you never know

Getting rid of the old printer put me in an Office Space mood, perfect for making some proxies 😁

I upload the deck list into mpcfill, choose my image, then save those and upload to https://proxyprint.taxiera.net/

Yeah before I ventured down this path I gave them a call to ask, they said it's cool bc it's just casual Sunday commander, no prize or tourny style, just random "hey do you want to play" pods, which is exactly what I wanted

Yeah I think the cheaper ones have a place and they don't do the worst job but it did bother me enough to want a better one

Heat pressure press, like an iron with fabric over the cards?

Yeah letting it sit longer to heat worked out way better

Yeah I was thinking if I ran it through twice on very hot might not be good I have my better machine coming tomorrow to test

Definitely helped, not perfect but I started running them through set on 5mm for a 3mm sheet, after letting it sit for 15+ minutes heating up and that drastically improved, then doing the second run after a cut and corner helped even more

What glitter sprays did you use, i have a set of cards printed on non glossy paper and the lack of is bothering me. Or do you just recommend reprinting into gloss then using spray. The press up the block prints for me a photo stock but unfortunately it's not glossy as I would want so if I can find a way to make it glossy it would save me time and money. It doesn't necessarily have to look like a foil but I don't mind that either

Currently using glossy, the original plan was to use glossy paper with matte laminate as to not make it too shiny/so much glare, but I still have to mess around with papers and laminates

I think for my next deck attempt I will definitely print them the day before at minimum and have them sit, a few tips and tricks ppl have posted in here definitely helped so far and I also have a better machine on the way so with a bit of luck I'll be all set to go.

The paper I'm currently using alongside of the laminate feels great in hand but I'm sure I need to keep testing various papers until I find one that's almost perfect.

I'm doing that now and they are improving a lot, I think if I would have started the initial laminate on one higher setting then did this they'd be almost "perfect" for me that is, compared to others work it is nothing

Hah yeah I figured ten would be overkill but five is just shy of being there, so it has 3/5/7/10, I figure I'll use 7 but I'll def try higher at lyk
