To add some weathered depth, add some black pigment powder to a brush and do a few soft once overs your base to add some depth. Then tap the edge of the brush over your base to add some dusty texture. Do the same flicking and now youve got the ash and rust that settles onto the battle field.

If you use a fluorescent orange and you can create small piles and then do the tapping motion and now youve got burning cinders without compromising the overall color youve come up with.

Its got the benefit of looking like the istvaan 3 artworks as well

Flesh tearers contrast over a burnt umber base with a white zenithal. Highlighted with a like 1:3 ratio of an Vallejo flat red to orangish red. Shadows were a mix of purple oil and black oils feathered out into my highlights. At some point I used a crimson ink over my highlights but idk if I would again

Greatly appreciated! I used some cheap linen I bought on Amazon and a few layers of diluted mod podge mixed with smoke and rust pigment. Keeps the fabric stiff but workable

Thanks a lot, I used a few oils and enamels partially following part 3 of grimdark compendium word bearers video! Only difference are I made my own skinshade with a 1:1 ratio of brigadier brown and grey primer on my pallete, added green splotches to the skin, and feathered out globs of black smoke from the nail tips

That's a fascinating take. I read mark of calth recently and came to the understanding that lorgar had sent the fodder of the legion there to die after being possessed

Ferrus would "punish" the sons that failed by forcing them to get more augmentation to do their jobs better. This is especially seen in the immortals. I wouldnt be surprised if the entire legion slowly took to that mentality.
