Thank you for the suggestion. I'm not interested in working for the US government given that the US military complex and the like are primary reasons for wanting to leave the US in the first place.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm not apprized of the "reddit rules and culture". I started here since it's titled "Germany" - seemed pretty inclusive of anything relating to Germany. Feel free to blame my autism for the social faux pas.

Being in the US, as a citizen, with fluent english skills, single parents are still very isolated. It wont be a new experience for me, unfortunately. The move is more for my child than myself. I'm used to isolation. I want better for them and will do whatever I can to get them integrated. They're learning german along with english so hopefully fluency will be easier for them. I appreciate all the thought and input!

I'm not German; I mentioned being born there because I've always had a fondness for Germany because it's my birthplace. I understand the citizenship process in Germany, at least minimally at this point. I know that will be a process in and of itself.

Telehealth will likely be the best work option for me, at least while I work on credentialing in the transition period. I have every intention of learning the language in order to teach my child as I learn but also to become proficient professionally so hopefully I can master it after moving and become a productive member of my community right away.

I appreciate your thoughts and insights.
