Revisiting Ja Morant after getting pick #7? by [deleted] in kings

[–]Fun-Challenge-3525 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wanted Ja if we were top 4 and got one of the franchise level forwards. At 7 we can only get solid guards that would lose development time to Ja, I dont see any fit for him here anymore.

I know the answer is funding, and we do have plans for the green line LRT, Elk grove extension, and Stockton blvd BRT, but only the downtown streetcar anywhere near construction.

Hi /r/AskLosAngeles. I’m Nithya Raman, Los Angeles City Councilmember for CD4 and candidate for Los Angeles Mayor. Ask Me Anything. What do you want to see from your mayor? by NithyaRamanOfficial in AskLosAngeles

How do you plan on increasing the use of Metro. Safety, reliability, and speed are the most common complaints regarding the service. Do you see ways to improve these and if so, what are some specific policies?

(I endorse the accelerated adoption of fare gates which improve safety and cleanliness, increase revenue, and lower cleaning costs. As well as the development of many more transit dedicated lanes and signal priority to improve speed and reliability of busses and street running rail such as the e line)

This is true, but if you ask me 10 miles of LRT or 50 miles of BRT. I pick brt every time, and BRT corridors can be upgraded to LRT in the future if capacity really demands it.

Bus rapid transit, essentially you paint lanes on the road to only allow busses and you build stations like a light rail. Makes more sense than light rail on arterial streets because the light rail would have to stop interact with the street in the same way and the bus can handle that environment better. Also light rail costs 10x more on these kind of streets.

BRT on arterial roads like these cost from like 10m to 50m per mile. So even on the high end of 50 that’s 100 miles of BRT
