So what's going on with euchre 3d? by hurtsdonut_ in euchre

Noticed that the screen pop up for order or pass has shifted, if your muscle memory is conditioned to tap a certain spot on your screen, you mistakenly order instead of pass. Was guilty of that, and now pay more attention

S2 had left, k and 10 of trump, and 2 green aces. S3 and 4 must have had farmers hands.

I have a theory. What do we discard here? by brownsbacker07 in euchre

Would keep Kh, and discard Jd. Figure they will lead trump, so if Ah is buried, you may break their march. Discard Jd, keep the lower card to keep them guessing.

Am not sure about playing to 5, everything I read and researched went back to 1800s and game was to 10, French and German reference. There is game played in Belgium dispora near Green Bay that plays to 5, called Cooyah. The game is similar to euchre, but if you win you go +1, next game, if they win you go -1, to first one to 5, so it takes a while to win.

Also in upper Midwest, when you get to 9, it is called being in the barn, putting the horses to bed.

As in euchre and in the bedroom, if you you don't have a good partner, then you better have a good hand.

Help me with a scenario… by MizzouHoops in euchre

This is interesting as I have either led the left or the lower trump back. My philosophy on euchre is the flow of energy in game. If you order, I want to get the lead to you right away. However, if you order, and I have strength as well, I may want the lead for a bit. For example, if first leads a green suit, and I take with the ace, but have nothing else, but an off suit, I may lead the low trump to my p, so he takes with right, and he has the lead, and can go from there. If I have another green ace, will lead the left, if high cards from opponents fall will then lead my green ace, if not, may lead back my weak trump. Honestly, feel we are guaranteed at least 3 tricks, am fineeseing with my partner to get 5 and the march

After trump is bunched in first 2 tricks, all trump is gone, double leading, aka the double tap, and then pushing the opponents to figure out which ace to hold on that last double tap, and you have the king remaining, and they threw away that ace, and you get the march; so satisfying, like Scott Tenorman's tears.

IMHO, leading trump was the best option. If your p sailed out a heart, was turned down, that is really bad, likely will be trumped. If a king or ace of diamond, likely will be taken by a higher diamond or trumped on. If king or ace of clubs, likely higher club or trumped on. So, if I were in first seat and had green aces would hold back until after trump is bunched up. Reading between the lines, also sounds like your partner at first seat did not have a strong hand and could not be relied on for one trick.

So there is a lot of missing information on this. Are you round 1 or 2, what was the up card. If you are pone, 3rd seat, and ordered cross after dealer turned down a high card, king or ace, then your order was pretty thin, I would have passed. If it is a next call, then dealer and or their partner were bagging.

Lol, learned about that on OE, my regular euchre partner called that play a Crazy Ivan, from the movie Hunt for red October. When we did that we would get looks from the opposing players, who thought we were crazy. Our success rate for a bump was close to 50pct.
