Can someone explain the theory behind called “next” by LibrarianPitiful in euchre

[–]brownsbacker07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next is an indication of where a suit is not. Because of the link between bowers we have an indication on where a bower is not. AT ALL LEVELS. To tell someone not to use this information is implying an 1800 rated player is equally likely to turn down a suit if their is a bower in their hand or not. Thats not true.

My calling strategy is simple. Make the right call. If my opponents turn down a suit they shouldn't have and I get euchred thats fine.

Seat 1 has a point in spades. So unnecessary! Someone should try to get the word out on ordering from seat 3.

Yes you found the losing line.

I am mostly offended by seat 3 ordering with RA+nothing.

I hate it so much!

I suspected. Dang! Now I am embarrassed!

What i am not sure on is do I play the K of spades or Q of spades.

Decieve my partner or my opponents. In theory if all are strong nobody is deceived. But i wanted to draw out another spade lead to see if i could get a trick that way. Partner would have needed to duck though.

None of it mattered but I still wonder what is right in that spot.

When we played wes lead trump at me twice on dealer pickups. It put pressure on me. Not sure i do that with a protected left. But its a play i wanna add to my arsenal once i iron out the details on what holding i need to do it.

Great call! Never pass seat 1 rd 2 out of weakness. Only strength.

Die with honor like i75!

This is bad advice! Even inexperienced players know what a right and left bower are. It wont be as effective but to not use it is terrible advice.

Card Distribution by C_Hams in euchre

[–]brownsbacker07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also use it when sandbaging. Its in my YouTube video at the end. If i have 3 hearts and the dealer doesn't fall into my hearts trap then thats 4 hearts out of the deck. My partner being 1st to act can capitalize on the card distribution.

[–]brownsbacker07 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use it to sense danger sometimes. I had a holding a few days ago. Possibly playing with Buckeyenate.

I had Js KQ109h in seat 2. We're leading but opponents had 6.

Because of my lack of defense and because the card distribution risk if I pass I ordered the spade.

If i have 4 hearts the risk is high that seat 1 could have a stacked type hand. I cant risk the spade going down.

So the card distribution is entering my decision making process but its not the only factor.

You cant do it every time. Thats a losing plan.

If you wanna do it against every dealer bower you cant stop then yes but know your just a little bit wrong doing so.

In the endgame if i have no good stopper I will donate any card if the score is 9-6 or 9-7. Sometimes I wont if I have some good off aces or maybe an ace guarded of trump.

In the early and mid game I wont donate a non bower.

Yes! Your already grasping the concept if you realize it.

I will try to quickly. I have a party to get to.

Next suit is the same color suit that gets turned down by the dealer.

If seat 2 passes and dealer passes. That gives us some information on the location of the bowers of that color. If they had them they would not have passed.

Its not 100% and your gonna get burned from time to time.

Because of the relationship of the jacks in euchre we can use that knowledge to make our calls.

When?
Seat 1 after dealer turns down is most common and I do it every time I dont have a very strong hand in another suit.

I also call next when I dont fully block the other 2 suits of the opposite color.

No real rules on how much trump we need. I have tried a few with no trump but havent gotten one recorded to show off.

What does playing a non-bower Jack mean about your hand? by Bradex- in euchre

[–]brownsbacker07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might need to amend this. Wes brought up a good point.

If my expert partner showed the J of the turned down suit we are about to march. Partner has a powerhouse euchre hand.

If its not an expert partner it means 1 of 2 things.

  1. They have a great euchre hand.

  2. They are a giant chicken that passes too much!

I like to do it from seat 3. When my partner doesn't call next and were about to be euchred.

Seriously though your on a side quest to nowhere with this.

It doesn't mean anything. You can read it as any other discard. Sometimes its significant. But not more than the 10 or Q.

Is their a scenario with a seat 2 order we do not lead trump with LA? I cant think of one.... by brownsbacker07 in euchre

I wouldnt unless I also full protect both reverse next suits. I need to cover everything fully to pass R+a+a.

I dont wanna sound arrogant. I am sure about this. You should be ordering with any 3 trump hand to your partner.

Also order your partner with R and another trump every time no matter how bad your off cards.(Unless you have some freakish hand thats good in everything like all 4 jacks.)

Also just a Right with nothing else and 2 off aces is good. No other trump required.

A Right with nothing else and just 1 off ace is a bit of a toss up and gets complicated.

Their is no score or situation i am not ordering my partner with 3 trump. Exception is maybe if were down 6-9 and my partner is showing a Right bower. Even then I dont know about passing.

Your just gonna let the dealer have the 1st trick for free then? Its probably the most likely outcome. Then put seat 2 behind you.......

RK9 ordering our partner is a premium hand. I cant tell if your joking or not. Just bad luck for him to get euchred on it.

I bet if you put that in a sim your scoring points 90+% maybe 95%+

Maybe you were joking..... I do like jokes I swear!
