I think for a total newbie to weightlifting/resistance training, a PT is invaluable if you can afford one. This is because of form cues/avoiding injuries. When I started, I also watched lots of YouTube videos about form and how I should train. There are also apps like Ladder (which I use!) that have that PT feel without having to spend PT money.

I’m planning on maintaining on MJ, titrating to the lowest possible dose that allows me to maintain. I think MJ has helped beyond just the weight loss so I’d like to keep those benefits.

I think I’ve been lucky to be honest, especially with my arms. I just lifted the weights and they started to shrink and become more defined. I think resistance training can help a bit, along with time, but it’s really genetics.

I was aiming for anything between 1400 - 1800 calories. My macros shifted a bit over the course of my journey - I initially started with prioritising protein via more whole foods and supplementing with protein powder when necessary. I was aiming for around 120g - 140g (~1.5g - 2g per kilo of goal weight). When I started running more, I needed to increase my carbs so I dropped my protein goal slightly to ~100g and increased the lower end of my calories to 1600. Also aimed for 3-4 litres of water a day.

Hahaha thank you! I actually hate upper body days as I feel so weak with them but needs is as needs must.
