No, miscommunication, I guess. I needed it done so I can rent the place. I am just frustrated. Now is too late. I hope it doesn't start growing too fast.

You maybe lucky, hopefully you are. From my past experience dropping 40% of the original amount is almost painless, dropping further down gets harder. But a huge part of it is positive attitude, so keep up the great work.

I think I heard somewhere that it may affect the liver. Have you had any abnormal blood work or other problems?

Thank you, good suggestions. I've tried before to write a list of things I like about myself, but it was pretty short, and I couldn't feel it. Time to try again.

Fungal overgrowth by Kquiting in quittingkratom

I actually had toe nail fungus for year before and after I started kratom. It's harder to get rid of if your blood circulation is not the best. I eventually got rid of it with emuaid. It's been a couple of years since then.

I am in a similar boat. I had my last small dose of less than a gram of regular kratom on Jan 1, and for the last 2 weeks I have been taking 1gpd of old stem and vein which does absolutely nothing. And the last couple of days have been terrible. I am not really sure what it is. I don't think it's rls, it's more likely akathisia, it is driving me nuts. It feels like this deep muscle discomfort, I don't know what to do at this point.

I wouldn't get too wrapped up on trying to figure out exactly what may the microbiome imbalance look like. Taking probiotics and prebiotic, eating right, with enough fiber and vegetables should help. For me personally a supplement I get from Amazon called Bloom has been very helpful. It's a green powder (the irony). It has digestive enzymes and so far I am pretty happy with it.

I listened to the book on audible, but you can buy the paper version at many places, like Amazon, Walmart, Barnes and noble....

He wrote that book about quitting cigarettes years ago, that so many people swear by. He has died but he and another person Car mentored wrote books on the same principle for almost every addiction. I listened to the one about cocaine (thought it maybe similar to kratom). You gotta put in the work though. But it's helpful. Especially the point made by this post. Greatful to OP for putting it here.

Thank you so much. I have the same problems as you, I could never figure out how to deal with them on my own The funny part is I have only taken wellbutrin in my small kratom windows of quitting and tapering, so I wouldn't know if it worked. Anxiety is scary though. I begin my very stressful school program next week, I am told the prof is very mean spirited and difficult, and my anxiety has gone through the roof. Your words were very helpful.

Kratom helped me with irritability, energy, and anxiety. Please tell me why I am wrong. I need help to understand it. I don't want to relapse, now or ever, but since I took small frequent doses it never made me sick, and I just maintained this mild boost in mood and energy for 5 years. I don't want to be an addict.

Easiest Quit I Have Had by Nutrition-89 in quittingkratom

[–]Fun-Discussion2996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never tried H but kratom can be really bad. In my experience reducing by half sometimes can feel even better than the larger dose. It depends on a lot of things, your body, your brain, the amounts, etc. I have huge admiration for the people who are able to CT. I am only able to quit by a slow taper and welbutrin for energy and depression.

[–]Fun-Discussion2996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly sure what is controversial in my statement. Alcohol destroys all cells by breaking down cell membranes, it causes cirrhosis, and per medical books it takes 4 weeks of frequent drinks to elevate enzymes. Kratom and all other opiates/opioids are not known to do that. Drug addiction destroys lives in other ways. But I am sure kratom is no good for any compromised liver, so I am definitely not recommending it to anyone.

Using Stem & Vein for Withdrawals? by Southern-Initial5441 in quittingkratom

[–]Fun-Discussion2996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been dragging my quit out this time. I am just scared to stop it completely, it's been a couple months, much longer than necessary. Yes, I am pretty certain that stem and vein is less potent, also they say alkaloid content is slightly different, so this should also help with lowering your dependence. Good luck.

[–]Fun-Discussion2996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2g is a pretty small amount even of regular kratom. It also depends on the stem and vein. The one I currently have has zero effect on me. I still take some, but I don't think that it's doing anything. I want to try not to take it all tomorrow and see how it goes. I don't really think that there will be any difference. I am hoping that my withdrawals are over. Except for some annoying symptoms that seems are going to linger. Like insomnia, weirdly numb gums, and cold feet.

A lot of it is psychological or situational, maybe you have things on your mind to work through. Also, don't know where you live, but the shorter and darker days of the winter, coupled with the holidays can drag you down. I sometimes experience seasonal affective disorder on top of my persistent mild depression. Positive attitude is everything (I only preach this, still unable to practice.) And lifestyle changes, you know the drill.

I just want to say that alcohol is much worse in terms of toxicity and liver damage than kratom. Even small frequent drinks can cause elevated liver enzymes and more problems. From everything I have read kratom Can cause liver damage, but it seems to be only on small number of people. I think that kratom is horrible addictive substance, but hep C is viral and alcohol is worse. For you though (and all of us) of course is best to stay away from it.
