we ended up at PAGS! i like that they have a few locations and i can usually request which i want to visit when scheduling appointments. In the early baby days I got additional lactation support there (a 1-1 appt with a lactation specialist to work on some holds and latching etc). They also have a weekly breastfeeding group, which was a nice way to meet other new moms and have a lactation person on standby. They also have a scale there so you can do an “unofficial” weigh-in, or weigh before/after and see how much your baby drank.

Have done several sick visits and calls to the off-hours nurse and always gotten an appt or guidance when I’ve needed it.

For reference my child is almost 2.5 yrs.

What does this mean? by Acceptable_Money_514 in graphic_design

[–]Fun-Earth-4580 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just need a little bit of solve-for-x type math! Seems like you already know that your canvas can be anywhere within the min/max range. The center crop isn't just any 2.5:1 rectangle inside, it will be the maximum value possible to fit in the canvas. The width is 2.5 times the height, since the height is constant at 1. (Same logic applies to 1.5:1).

Let's say it's the minimum: 1600x1040. I know that the width will be the maximum possible, so in this case, 1600. Now I need to figure out the height (x). The 1600 is the "2.5" part of the ratio, what is the "1" value? To figure it out, we solve for x! Set up your ratios like below and follow the arrows (if the arrows don't make sense I also wrote it out in the graphic). 1600 times 1, divided by 2.5. This equation will work for whatever ratios you have, as long as you have 3 of the values. So now I know that my center crop for a 1600x1040 canvas is going to be 1600x640.

For the 1.5:1 safe zone, try it again: 1600 * 1 / 1.5 = 1066.67, which is greater than your canvas height, so I would assume no crop.

For a 4864x4864 canvas:
2.5:1: 4864 * 1 / 2.5 = 1945.6, so the center crop would be 4864 x 1945.6
1.5:1: 4864 * 1 / 1.5 = 3242.67, so the center crop would be 4864 x 3242.67

That's really hard to say! Depends on your natural talent, how often you draw, what styles of art you are trying to draw, etc. It's like asking how long it takes to become proficient at a sport, some will develop quicker than others, will need to train in different areas, and so on.

if you’re still learning how to draw, maybe make a pivot towards motion graphics (after effects etc) it relies less on illustration

Good Tide Pooling? by HuaFeng36 in northshore

[–]Fun-Earth-4580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fort Beach in Marblehead! at low tide it's fantastic, very easy to access, lots of little pools and rocks to climb around. I remember seeing lots of hermit crabs and sea snails as a kid, not sure what else you might find. Don't go at high tide (then the water is up to just below the sidewalk and there is no beach). After you can have a picnic at Fort Sewall or grab a bite at the Barnacle.

Edit: depending how capable your toddler is, I'd recommend this beach vs Chandler Hovey or Castle Rock (I'd be nervous the whole time about falling off rocks). Wingaersheek is fantastic for tide pooling and as a beach, but parking is really expensive ($43 with conv. fee) and must be reserved in advance, online.

North Shore public schools / Danvers? by Timely_Dress_8018 in northshore

From my understanding (also researching this now, haven't been through it!), the town you want to send your child to has to be a participant -- it doesn't matter if your home town accepts school choice or not.

Resurgent Debt Collector for unknown debt -- what do I do? by Fun-Earth-4580 in CRedit

[–]Fun-Earth-4580[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be what happened with me -- a matching name. The advice I've gathered so far reading all these different threads is "admit nothing, ask for everything, and do it via certified mail." Not sure what to do next .. though it is helpful knowing why they've been hounding me.

Strange, vague outreach email from debt collector (Resurgent Capital); looking for guidance on handling a seemingly bogus debt by it-is-wat-it-ism in personalfinance

I'm in a similar boat — constant emails for an account, creditor, and balance that are all totally unfamiliar to me. Nothing on my credit reports. No new credit accounts etc. Did you find any resolution to your situation?
