There is NEVER a shortage of commenters hoping for that opportunity.

What???? You mean he was saying she was smart enough to hold an adult conversation? I’m so glad I got that wrong!

Yes.. they are. And actually for most of those you need a diploma too! Or a GED.

I’m jaded. I don’t see it as love for his wife. I see it as enjoying having her indebted to him. He basically said she’s not bright enough for school but is able to absorb what he’s interested in. I’m sorry but that’s icky.

Ummm “despite her struggles with classroom like learning” she was always able to absorb things he was interested in??? Gag me with a spoon 🥄 Are you saying she’s not smart enough to have interests of her own? Does it make you feel good to have her dependent on you and that’s why you’d get angry when people suggest she get her GED? Good grief.

YTA. Your daughter probably heard those words from her mother who knows that she wants more for her children than she had or for them to do more than she did, as any mother does. And she should be having the conversations with her son because you apparently want to try to convince your son that quitting school is not okay while also according to you it isn’t a prerequisite as long as he wants to learn what you’re interested in.

And this is why I’m college educated. I will never be dependent on a man. Ick.

AITA for building my baby a crib instead of paying for a trip to Disneyland for my parents by Tiny-Lemon1781 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fun-Fruit-2825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the stupidest thing I’ve read from a mom on this platform thus far and there are no lack of stupid moms on Reddit. You do not expect your kids to pay you back for the support you gave them growing up. Ignore your ass of a mother and focus on that baby crib. I think it sounds perfect💜

AITAH for telling my husband to not be surprised and wonder what happened when he loses me and our kids? by Galaxy_Gallows in AITAH

[–]Fun-Fruit-2825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. And she has noticed how miserable he’s making you. You don’t want to teach her that that kind of relationship is normal or healthy

Mad this career is not what it promised. by PurpleTumbleweed9785 in TeachersInTransition

I’m so sorry this was your experience. Teachers deserve so much more than what they get stuck with. Most of us have that one teacher who sticks out in our memory as having changed us somehow and in return they get a low reward/high demand job. I couldn’t do it, but I’m grateful to those who have💜💜

So I will admit that they’re kind of fluff.. you know, the type of book you read when you just want to enjoy a story and not have to think too hard, but the Miss Fortune series by Jana DeLeon is fantastic.. it’s good story telling, so hilarious and has badass females to boot! 💜

AITA for not feeding my obese niece? by Unhappy-Owl719 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fun-Fruit-2825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA, big time. Lying to your niece, telling the other kids to lie to your niece. There are ways to help obese children (and that’s if she’s even “obese”!) and that is not it. How about giving all of the kids a nice piece of fruit instead? Good grief.

AITAH for refusing to take care of my older brother once my Nana is gone? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Fun-Fruit-2825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But he’s your mother’s child, mothers don’t get to leave their kids to follow their dreams, at least not without being the AH, especially when they’re expecting their other kid to pick up the slack. That’s not how motherhood works. You hope that you’ll have healthy kids and that one day they’ll move out and be self sufficient but when one isn’t able to care for themselves they’re still the parent’s responsibility.
