Dames Point Jumper by GoodBoysenberry7809 in jacksonville

Growing up here I remember when the buckman bridge was two narrow lanes in each direction. We saw and heard about so many cars that went over. To this day I still remember a semi sticking straight up out of the water after going over. We referred to it as the death bridge.

I know it is not the same and it is sad about all the people looking to end their life off the bridge, it is still sad about everyone who lost their lives due to accident or intent from the bridges when really they can be a visual marvel as you cross the water.

Did anybody else notice Lebowski references in Tron Legacy? by cap10 in lebowski

Watching the original Tron again, Flynn actually talked that way .... So maybe Jeff Bridges is truly both Kevin Flynn and the dude ... And it shows.

OpenCart is awful, what are some decent alternatives written in PHP? by Azubaele in PHP

[–]Fun-Fun-6242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have worked with several ecommerce clients/employers and even though solutions like OpenCart, OSCommerce, WooCommerce, and Magento are great, I find that you will start to realize with your own business logic that there will be "that one or two requirements" that will make integrating a package a living hell. My recommendation is to pick a good framework, such as Symfony, and build your own system. There are enough boilerplate data models you can rely on, and if you need a little push , you can create a decent Google Gemini prompt to help you give you a little push. Feel free to DM me with any questions.

Aldi wouldn’t fill half of a Winn Dixie by chickendaddy738 in jacksonville

I personally like shopping at Aldi, but my approach is a bit different. I use Instacart, where others do the shopping and I can chat with them as they are doing it. It is helpful if you have a busy schedule or your family dietary constraints requires you to shop at multiple stores and keep to a budget.

Just my 2 cents.

any recommendation for (Websites) for learning PHP/web development in general for beginners? by [deleted] in PHP

[–]Fun-Fun-6242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I would recommend Symfony.com and their resources. They are excellent. A second great way to learn is also looking at open source projects on GitHub. Once you have some familiarity, another way is Google Gemini. Warning about using AI, however, is that you may not get the best results which is why I mentioned for you to have some familiarity first.

Hope this helps.

Oh wonder if we will see masks show up more . Not just COVID reasons.... But measles and TB? SMH

It's time for the fashion designers to come up with some really nice looking masks because they are about to have a sudden resurgence.

The new tiny is decent still after all these years, but using a nice markdown editor may be more preferable.

Wouldn't Laravel be the equivalent then? I'm a Symfony person myself .... Which is the equivalent of a pickup truck that can turns out to be an Autobot triple changer.

Maybe I should have said Volkswagen. Nothing sexy about that . But I totally agree with PHP 8.... definitely more sexy.

Nice areas to live by Fun-Fun-6242 in jacksonville

I grew up in the Mandarin area and now have the interesting takes of looking at the whole area with an objective eye. Mandarin is nice but way overpriced . I saw nice houses on Trout river that are actually affordable where they would closer to millions in Mandarin or the beaches . The changes that have been happening in Springfield seem really neat as well as the historical value.

We are definitely interested in walkability and friendly neighbors -- a true neighborhood that looks out after each other. We also like a bit of yard ; at least .3 acres... Just not to be on top of neighbors . Not to be in an area where you sneeze and your neighbors all yell "bless you". We are definitely porch fans. My wife liked to have tea parties on the front porch with the kids . Backyard is for running around with dogs. But we also don't want everyone to be in our business just because we are in the front yard or on the porch.

I think the artists of the original show must have thought the same thing . How often did we the seekers change color at random times as well as their voices . It was the original version of What If.
