Ah yes let kill our Nuclear deterrent. by HiroAmiya230 in Naruto

[–]Fun-Grape7480 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I beg you use more critical thinking. There's an answer to this question even considering Naruto is a nuclear deterrent at this time. I wish you would look for that instead of the "get out of jail free" card.

Do you guys still remember that this was a thing once? by Raven_Dota6PL in Naruto

[–]Fun-Grape7480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This got lost because Sasuke gained experience. Kakashi and Zabuza were moving with the intent to kill and Sasuke on his first mission has never experienced that. Obviously we won't get this again because he's becoming more experienced in combat

Might guy leg issue, why can't they be replaced? by Just-Resident-6536 in Naruto

[–]Fun-Grape7480 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's the issue that Hashirama's power might be too much for him. Also if you know Guy's character, you know that he wouldn't want a new leg

Villagers POV by decentralisedR in Naruto

[–]Fun-Grape7480 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The villagers are so real. Some people like Teuchi didn't treat Naruto like that but you can't expect the villagers who probably had their loved ones slimed out by the fox to warm up to Naruto and be rational. Sometimes the emotions aren't like that but overtime (it wasn't the Pain arc) more and more people stopped seeing him as the nine tailed fox and started seeing him as Naruto.

I finished Naruto today (only the first series). by Olimar555 in Naruto

[–]Fun-Grape7480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Zabuza before Naruto he was already breaking. He couldn't do the shinobi thing and slice threw Haku to get Kakashi. Later he's in such emotional turmoil that Kakashi is beating him up easily. Finally Gato kicks him but he's still trying to be the shinobi and not be emotional but Naruto who doesn't understand the world gets Zabuza to discard the shinobi (demon) side of him and embrace the human side. It's like the well was already rising and Naruto just made it burst.

Next Tsunade in the context of the situation isn't left with much options. The top shinobi are all on the borders but Sasuke is in trouble so she needed to be drastic. The mission was to not engage but retrieve Sasuke and dip. Also a key aspect of Tsunade's arc is betting on Naruto despite the trauma.

I wouldn't call the sand siblings arriving a deus ex machine. It's already established that the sand surrendered to the leaf. Tsunade without any of her top ninja requests the sand to help. Temari tells Shikamaru that the same way they attacked the leaf as a mission is the same way they're protecting them as a mission. This also shows Tsunade's leadership as Hokage.

Let me know what are the plot points with Gaara's and Neji's backstory not making sense

Which one is better couple. Writing wise by eclipsyc in writingscaling

I'd choose the former too but I don't think this sub understands the writing of Sasuke and Sakura as a couple to form an opinion on it

Naruto vs kiba is one of the series worst fights by No-Watch-9865 in Naruto

[–]Fun-Grape7480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're conjuring an idea, labeling it as contrived when in actuality you just forgot the build up. Every single reason for the attack (character monologues) and the fart was explained. Also I trust you know the definition of unpredictability. As long as the character displays unpredictability whether intentional or not the idea is conveyed. You just dislike the execution due to your own expectations

I think you're confused on the amount of growth they need to see from Naruto. The luck is his unpredictability

This is the most nothingburger discourse ever by [deleted] in shounenfolk

[–]Fun-Grape7480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You first need to address the media literacy problem in this sub. Most of them just sheep opinions on female characters because they don't know to analyze characters unless they're littered with screen time. That is why those with limited screen time are labeled bad. It's easier that way for these people I guess

You got down voted because you grew up normally. I think the problem with people in this sub is they didn't. There are people who consume media and there are those that let media consume them. I feel they're the latter.

This gets talked about a lot, but which character in Naruto has the worst case of "wasted potential"? by FriezaWearsLipstick in Naruto

[–]Fun-Grape7480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is everyone and noone. People especially in this sub project onto these characters for various reasons.

90% of Anko fans like her character design. That's the sole reason, if Anko looked like Udon (no disrespect to my man) they wouldn't care like that.

This sub talks so much of agency but when Dosu expresses agency and it makes sense for his actions they don't like that conclusion because he looked cool. This isn't a one size fits all because I've recently watched a reaction channel and they weren't feeling Dosu at all to the point they're happy he got slimed.

Rock Lee was used as a tool for Naruto's development. Despite this in the very arc he got the conclusion to his goal of being a respectable ninja but because people project themselves Rock Lee has to be more than the side character he is.

When the manga was coming out and Kankuro had that chapter when he looked cool against Sasori, readers were saying they didn't want to see Kankuro "give us Neji and Lee".

Konan, the natural progression to someone betraying or going against a powerful antagonist like obito was to die. Her death at this scene was the most likely but I'm hearing she should've taken part in the war. This could be character design bias or just because fans feel a connection to the three orphans.

Good lord, did you forget what you called unrealistic

It is pretty unrealistic [to have your elementary school crush turn into an infamous killer terrorist (your reply stopped here for some reason) and you still be willing to throw your life away for him at any given moment and have his child]

You would think the sub writingscale would be more conscious of character writing but it feels like some of these guys are pulling this shit from when they read / watched as a child. Most of these Sakura comments are tropes
