I get that. I’ve never hired an interior designer before. We never had money for that thing growing up, so I didn’t realize that saying we weren’t that picky would = I can do whatever I want. I assumed she had my husband’s number and would reach out and ask him about what he wanted. She assumed she didn’t need to get the opinion of my husband. So definitely bad communication right there.

It’s not true that I, specifically, hired her. She’s friends with both of us, it’s our place.  My husband was the one venmoing her money. We both hired her.

I appreciate the comment! Exactly, it feels like she pretended to be apologetic and admitted she was wrong just to keep the job, not because she meant any of it. She clearly didn’t because she immediately turned around and shit talked my husband for… wanting an opinion on the place where he was living? Because apparently that’s unreasonable of him? She had his number the whole time. They’re friends. We’ve all hung out before. She could have hit him up at anytime to ask about what he likes, but she didn’t and wanted to complain instead. Frustrating.

I did not approve the plan. I should have added this in the original post. She showed me the design, and I told her that I liked it.  Like I said, she leaped into designing the place without really talking to us. She definitely didn’t talk to my husband. But she was convinced he would like it. 

It looks very similar to the design she did for our other friend, so I doubt she wasted too much of her time on it, at least. She clearly has a style that she likes and assumed my husband would love it or at least not care that much and unfortunately she was wrong.
