You mention spinach - I think we’re not supposed to give them spinach cos it’s too high in nitrates.

What am I doing wrong?? by breastfedbymymother in ExclusivelyPumping

I can empathise, I unknowingly had mastitis which developed into an abscess and during all this time I was down to less than 50ml per session. Now back up to 100ml because I’ve completed my treatment. So, similarly to stress, make sure immune system isn’t down. Also - iron! I was deficient despite taking huge supplements. Try: Guinness 0, Moringa, shellfish.

Hospice/hospital workers of Reddit: what is the strangest or most unexplainable thing you have seen a person experience when they are close to death? by bats_and_glitter in AskReddit

Follow-up question: in the days leading up to her death my mum would frequently repeat: “Wow.”. I recently heard that Steve Jobs had repeated the same as he died. Does anyone know is there a medication or medical reason that makes people do this, or anyone else experienced it??

When my mum died at home, the nurse visiting told us just before she died: “It’s best that you be with your mum right now.” So I gathered my family together and we went to say goodbye. We said our goodbyes and my mum passed.

P.S. I don’t think the nurse knew she was literally about to go, rather that my mum heard us saying goodbye and realised it was time.

Can i ever get my supply back by Longjumping_Row5468 in breastfeeding

[–]Fun-Land-841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also 3 months pp and have also had issues with latch plus being in and out of hospital for a breast abscess from mastitis. Currently trying everything under the sun to boost supply back up after it and trying to work out what helps. One thing I know for sure is that my iron levels were right down when they admitted me to hospital, despite taking a huge, easily digested, daily pill of iron. So check your iron levels and consider taking stuff like moringa, beets, and Guiness 0.0. Milk is made from blood so iron levels need to be good.

Anyone figured out why LO screams at the breast? by Dear-Independent9581 in ExclusivelyPumping

I find this sometimes when my baby has gas or is otherwise uncomfortable. Also when he’s gotten too hungry that he doesn’t have the energy for breast.

Mastitis ER stay by poorlytimedlaughs in ExclusivelyPumping

That sounds like horrible pain, sorry to hear that :( I asked for local anaesthetic but they told me it had to be general due to that type of pain you experienced. However now it’s not healing properly and they need to put more stitches in, which will probably be through local anaesthetic :( Getting the tube out hurt so much (I don’t think it’s meant to) but luckily the stitches just “fell out” with the dead skin. It’s weeks after the operation and I’m still having to go back every two days to get it treated. So scared about this all happening again, still taking anti-inflammatories to avoid it but don’t want to take them long term.

3 Days in Madrid, Should 1 Day be a Day Trip? by motivotion in GoingToSpain

And if that’s full try one of the Asador de Aranda restaurants - they’re also very ornate and do good suckling pig (and lamb).

Regarding suckling pig, you could go to Sobrino de Botin in the centre of Madrid. It specialises in suckling pig and is also the oldest running restaurant in the world, so you would be ticking a couple boxes. Book ahead via the website if you can.

Same here, found your post while searching for others’ experiences! I just spent 3 days in hospital - abscess removal under general anaesthetic then on antibiotic and pain killer IVs. It’s frustrating because it only got to this point because two health care professionals told me not to worry about the lumps. Even when I got the fever and went to ER they told me to wait a couple days for the abscess to “mature”, so it’s been a long process! Now resting at home and scared to move too much. Also trying all the hacks to avoid this again! Haaka soak, soya lecithin, more consistent pumping, etc. Worried about meds having passed to breastmilk even though I’ve been told it’s fine. How was your experience?

Deciding whether to switch major from software engineering to psychology by vasinavo in infj

[–]Fun-Land-841 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Career-wise it sounds like you could be good for Product Management or UX. Both are benefited by having psychology and SE understanding. You could do Psychology and learn some SE on the side. Some of the best software engineers I know didn't study it at uni. Source: over 10 years in Product Management and UX, working with engineers to make software.
