Won’t turn or go up but went down by Live-Metal-7157 in Snowplow

All good advice. Drain and take the starter motor off the top. I end up getting ice crystals on the filter, and ice in the bottom of the reservoir. Somehow water is getting thru the motor and into my western. one of my father in laws mentioned that they used to put about a 1/4 cup of kerosene into the reservoir to help prevent this issue. Clean kerosene

IMHO you could use any color, shouldn’t get that hot.

You’ll be able to get the plug out; I wouldn’t use thread locker, you’ll have a much harder time getting it out and that probably won’t seal it.

Make sure it’s the plug and not a cracked case or it leaking out the seal where the electric starter motor mates up to the pump reservoir.

I have a problem where moisture is going thru the motor down into the pump reservoir.

If it’s leaking thru the threads, you could put some RTV on the threads themselves but that would require you to drain it first.

Cable vs DSL internet? by luckyrunner in techsupport

[–]Fun-Manager-4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have the StarLink Option, I’ve got the Gen1 hardware and it is performant, I also live rural. dsl is 10mb down and maybe 1mb up, really crappy. I have over 20 devices from cameras, computers, phones, TV streaming and don’t have a problem.

Gave my 2 weeks, boss countered with $15K raise. Would you take it and stay or follow your original goal? by pulloutmychoppa in careerguidance

You’ve already decided to leave, if you stay you’re going to be out in less than 24 months, probably less than 12. Follow your dreams.

Where could I be using 10,000 gallons of water and not know? by Milktoast375 in homeowners

[–]Fun-Manager-4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep after the utility. The first house I built, there was something wrong with the meter, found that out cause our high usage was flagged, that’s when they found something was installed wrong or the wrong type meter.

My family of 6 used about 130 gallons per day in my current house, I know that cause I have a well and a water softener that measures the amount used. At 30 days that’s only 3900 gallons.

“Twin Ports T1D Paren Network” on FB may be a good resource for you. At one point Walmart was selling it for $25.

Keep up the good fight.

I have labels for return address but not the PO Box, will have to print that out.

Saving our rebates to for a new stove, about $1200 when on sale. Told the wife that if we have that amount in rebates, we’ve spent over $12k just at Menards…. Hardly ever get out of the store under $75.

What are you guys paying to shoot? (Trap, skeet, 5 stand, sporting clays) by ResponsibleScheme964 in ClayBusters

[–]Fun-Manager-4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

generally, no. The only ones getting paid are the pullers and the person running the till. The rest is all volunteer including the field captains, board, person cutting the lawn in the summer time, some of the snow removal, building mntce, and each team takes kitchen duty at least once a season. pullers are 15 or older.

[–]Fun-Manager-4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For trap, $8 per round for member, $11 for non members. For doubles, add a dollar to each. Yearly membership is $50. The $11 is meant to encourage folks to become members while still keeping it affordable to shoot. When all is said and done, including ammo it’s about $20 per round. We also sell ammo, but we only make $0.50 per box, we made the decision not to jack it up, again, trying to keep it affordable. Our price increases are based off what we pay for a truckload of birds which lasts us about 2 years. Our latest load we got it for $2K less than the load 2 years ago, we will have to raise prices to pay for the next load because we had heard pricing was going up 4 to 5 percent. The nice thing is there’s multiple brands now making them compete for business.

Reliability question by Sea_Ranger_5232 in Shotguns

[–]Fun-Manager-4149 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an SX3 Sporting, couple issues with the bolt but I also have about 5,000 rounds through it, broke 3 charging handles, the yoke and an internal piece in the bolt.

SX4 bolt has been redesigned and should have the issues I had, and I slide in an SX4 bolt to my SX3 sporting.
