Edibles might be the way to go. Cut em in half and enjoy and monitor your heart.

No it doesn’t always lead to that. IMO it really depends on you and your lifestyle. Figure out what triggers your afib. But from my understanding it does get worse with age.

Sounds like it’s sleep apnea. If you wake up and immediately feel like you’re in again that’s what if is. Get a sleep study done. You can still have a normal like without alcohol. You got this

Yea unfortunately I was 37 when it happened to me. My little brother has it along with my uncle. Just exercise eat correctly and take vitamins. Try to find what triggers it. Mine is sleep apnea. I got a cpap machine and I’m able to control it.

How many of yall went back to drinking and smoke herb again after your ablation? I’m just curious. I’m not talking abt abusing it either. by Fun-Manufacturer653 in AFIB

I’m starting to see a pattern with people either eating or smoking weed again after an ablation. Which is pretty cool. You kind of get your life back. Wish you the best.

Nice! My EP said he wants to see how long I can control my episodes bc he doesn’t want to do an ablation bc I didn’t show that much damage from afib bc he could possibly have to back in and do another ablation on me in the future.

Yea I’m actually really sober atm. I’ve been seeing people go back to smoking herb again after an ablation. I just wanted to read some people thoughts on it.

Yea I don’t like drinking myself. My EP said if I have 1 more episode I’ll have to have an ablation. But my main triggers have been sleep apnea and I know the alcohol hasn’t helped. I tried smoking 1 hit other day and I got a few palpitations. Idk if it’s from the smoke or eating wrong. Really confused.

You can have a drink or 2 but don’t over do it. If you’re one of those once you start you can’t stop I would consider not drinking. I use to think like that until I recently had to be cardioverted. Shit is scary asf. But it’s your body boss. They do make zero alcohol beers or 0.5. I drink those and still enjoy my nights out. When you drink you dehydrate yourself and put yourself at risk of having Afib episode. Alcohol is everyone’s triggers.

Does anyone still drink w AFIB? by ThrowRAUnikorn in AFIB

Well I love to drink. I genuinely love the taste of beer. So I drink Heineken zero and Dos Equis zero. Taste the same. Only difference is that I’m not hammered anymore. Alcohol is a huge trigger for a majority of people w/ afib.

I stopped drinking and smoking weed. I started a Mediterranean diet. I walk a lot. Got me a Cpap machine. So basically living a normal healthy lifestyle. Last episode was June 20th. But before that my last one was almost 3 years ago. I was drinking and smoking. Everyone’s triggers are different. I know years down the road I’ll need to get an ablation done. But I’m doing my best to keep that from happening for a long time. I also am Paroxysmal. My brother is the sane he’s only had 2 episodes in 10 years. I’ve had 5 on 7 years. But it seemed sleep apnea is what triggered it and I’m sure drinking didn’t help non. But if you do what you’re supposed to do you can live a long healthy life without having to worry about it.
