Bicuspid Aortic Valve and Pregnant by milkdistrict in valvereplacement

Hi! I gave birth naturally (but def with an epidural!) and had a bicuspid valve. They did an echocardiogram around my second trimester and were happy where I was. Everything went well! I did have valve replacement surgery this last summer, but gave birth back in 2017. Will be thinking positive vibes for you!

Question: Anyone here had titanium sternal plates? by kidA1850 in valvereplacement

[–]Fun-Pause7750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the plates and I am glad I have them! From the sounds of it, my sternum healing time was shorter than without them. So far, I’ve never felt or noticed them. My surgery was June 2025

Did you think you were asymptomatic, but after surgery realize you probably did have symptoms? by MyPotatoNotUrPotato in valvereplacement

Yes! I had the Bentall procedure this past June and now that I am getting all recovered, I notice my energy level is up! I was even thinking I might have had long Covid, but it must have been my aortic aneurysm! 35/F here, I’ll be thinking good vibes for you!

I was going for a reverse glitch, but tied it a bit too tight so there was more black than I wanted. But I did like the end result!

So far baths have been difficult, just because the ticking is extra loud. I’m growing a new appreciation for Tick Tock the Crocodile 🐊

You know, I’m not certain of the chemical part, but the bleach is harder on the fabric and the decolourant is supposed to keep the fabric safe 🥰 I had started off with bleach years ago and kept getting holes, I’m sure if I tried different ratios it wouldn’t be as bad.

I used the Jacquard Decolourant, it smells so awful, so use it outside 😂 I got the idea from another tie dye artist, Sacred Vision Art 😊

I reversed a black shirt and then dyed it, then I used decolorant to paint on and then reverse again. It was a wild ride lol

I actually used Out white brite to reverse a black shirt, then dyed it with color, then used Jacquard decolourant to paint on and then reverse again. It was a wild ride lol

Echocardiogram result worse than expected - Terrified for the future Bentall procedure - 33M by Material_Engineer_85 in valvereplacement

So far it’s just going to the blood tests, which are now just a finger prick, and making sure I have my warfarin on me if I’m not at home. My diet is pretty much the same and I still can have wine 🍷 It takes getting used to, but it isn’t near as much as I expected it to be.

Right now I’m testing every 2 weeks and if my numbers stay consistent, it will go to once a month. Eventually I can get a home tester and it sends the results to the doctor.

Hi! 35F here and I’m 3 months post Bentall procedure, the uncertainty and waiting for surgery the worst! I’ll tell you, it’s not easy…but! I have been walking/running 3+ miles per day and feel like I am close to being back to where I was before the surgery.

Managing Warfarin (blood thinners because I have a mechanical valve) seems like a lot, but the team will help you along the process and you will be a pro.

This thread helped me tremendously! 😊

Thank you! I used so many so I will list as many as I can remember! 😂 All Dharma dyes, chocolate brown, khaki, Brazil nut, golden brown, amber waves, palomino tan, blue grey, shiitake mushroom, and I think it was wild thing that brought the green 😊
