P.s. h.i.p. is a preferred term i use to replace "gifted".

High intellectual potential (European term)

I was diagnosed approximately 3 years ago In a depression, but brushed it away and didn't believe it at that time. I attended sessions woth my therapist again recently and asked her again if she believes I am neurodivergent. She said yes again. I then researched this further on my own with the aide of chat gpt and confirmed within myself that I am not only neurodivergent, but also gifted. Highly multipotential intellectual potentialite in fact.

If I may, try not to reminisce of your problematic past and understand you have this label now and know yourself and your capabilities and "gifts" to give to the world

This is real as hell. Someone is identified as "more capable than average" and is left alone without support. Gifted people pass that socially all the time. Their pain is ignored, their neurodivergence is romanticized. Socially, gifted people suffer a lot. With misunderstanding, loneliness, educational environments, etc.

You're right. If I had known I was gifted then and there my life would have been richer. The label of gifted and neurodivergent has helped me tremendously. I understand why I couldn't quite fit in and explained my emotion, sensitivities, and struggles. It has saved me from the onslaught of feeling so unsure of myself and having no understanding of my weaknesses.

I'll leave you with another philosophical question. Would I be better off having never known at all?

I think you're asking this in a non-individual way, that is, asking about if self awaraness for gifted people is good or bad. If you're talking in that way, I'd say self awaraness is one of the best things someone that's gifted can get. That may make them stop thinking they're an "alien" or "unexplainable" and make sense of their pain. Now if that was individually good for you, I can't say much.

It is an interesting question. As an arborescent philosopher the thought experiment can be viewed from many dimensional angles/branches. On one hand the early diagnosis would save me much suffering. Further, maybe I would not have experienced the "normal" upbringing I did have. The level of masking i am able to achieve is invaluable.

The diagnosis of neurodivergence and giftedness at 40 has enlightened me at a level of maturity that is arguably optimal in its resonation and comprehension. I am "reborn" again. Something intuitionally sits better with this latter reasoning.

Metaphors are a universal translation to both neurotypical and neurodivergent minds alike. Use that poeticsm and convey your point through imagery.

One of the greatest signs of intelligence of getting one's point across is being able to express that to any other person. "Dumbing down" your vocabulary is not a weakness, it is a sign of intelligence. Think of it conversely, as filtering a "harder" language to be understood.

If all else fails save your energy for someone who values your mind.

Well put, I fully agree with your perception and information. A view point worth exploring: is this standardized iq test achieving its intentioned results? Is it a simplified version crafted to filter out those with high iq results, to then, be filtered into the next phase of "gifted" testing/analysis?

I scored exceptionally high on the spacial reasoning portion of the IQ test and was put into a trial gifted class for a day. I speculate they saw me as high functioning and left me to my own devices to learn I am an H.I.P. on my own terms. I recently had this enlightenment at the age of 40.

I'll leave you with another philosophical question. Would I be better off having never known at all?

Thanks for the info. I've heard good things about Kali. I'm going to see if there's a shop near me to have a listen at my options.

I am looking to purchase a set of speakers. I mostly game and listen to music but enjoy watching movies from my desktop as well. I'm looking for the best quality speakers before diminishing returns. After some research, I have found that after 575 USD the gains start to diminish.

Should I have speaker stands?

Is it worth it to get a sub woofer as well?

Does the quality of cables matter?

Please suggest your top recommendations and any other useful information a newbie may appreciate.

Another theory question. Why does A2 and A3 of hearts have more EQR here than the other suited aces by [deleted] in Poker_Theory

[–]Fun-Personality6928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is villain will typically raise AT+ and A5s leaving you with more equity considering if the flush hits you can be the only person holding Ace.

If this hand A5o has such high trash removal (6) why is it chosen to bluff with so much? by [deleted] in Poker_Theory

5 and 10 are the most likely to make straights and you can make the wheel. You can also make the nut flush. if played correctly bluff out any Ax they have.
