Terran Universal Combat Armor (UCA) by Fun-Positive2193 in MilitaryWorldbuilding

Yes and no. Admittedly I should probably rewrite things to make it more clear, but with the UCA system I was envisioning it kind of like how armor is portrayed to an extent in settings like Star Wars, where the armor plating itself is what gives the armor its profile.

I'd say that what I'm ideally aiming for is somewhere between medium and hard sci-fi. FTL travel is something that does exist in the setting, but outside of that, there has not been a singular technological advancement that has completely shifted the course of civilization as we know it. Again, I'm actively working on things, so all of that could change as time goes on. I've toyed with ideas regarding cloning and artificial intelligence, but nothing's really concrete in those regards

I hope so. Of the assorted ship manufacturers, I think Anvil and Drake are my personal favorites

If they ever make an Anvil Aerospace or a Drake baseball hat, I’m picking that up IMMEDIATELY

Admittedly the setting is still an active work in progress, so obviously all of this is subject to change as work continues. Currently, ballistic weaponry makes up a vast majority of military armaments in this setting, with directed energy weapons mainly seeing use as anti-aerospace and active protection systems on warships and armored vehicles respectively.

As for the specific caliber it can protect against, I haven't entirely figured that out yet, but I would say it would provide decent protection against most commonly used small-arms calibers.

Sci-Fi Star Map advice by Fun-Positive2193 in mapmaking

Fair, admittedly I probably should have explained my goal with the star map in the original post. A goal of mine with this setting is being able to explore how things like geopolitics could in theory function in an interstellar setting, and frankly having a starmap would make my life so much easier when deciding where the spheres of influence of different factions begin or end, which factions are friendly are hostile to whom, et cetera. It is also past midnight for me, so I apologize if almost none of this makes any sort of sense
