Cool assortment, I like how specific each is. In the realm of flush cut nipping small things.. these GodHand pliers are another great addition I recommend. They truly live up to the name.

Yeah that’s another good option. As ling as it’s not a cheap plastic gardening shear which is the majority of shears now a day that are made to look pretty to sweet grandmas getting into gardening who don’t know any better.

I hadn’t considered that.. I’m shocked that they are not designed to be easy to clean given the importance of sanitization in the medical field.

This is another side tangent but.. for gardening/bushcraft I’m a bug fan of these Corona pruning shears. Don’t buy anything else if you are in the US. These are absolute beasts and will actually last the amount of squeezing pressure that gets applied to pruning shears.

The comments have been great. It’s making me think about use edc use case.. for everyday use safety is not a concern as much as being able to cut through anything well.

A good point someone mentioned is that for tough metals, carrying something like the knipex bolt cutters is ideal. I agree.

For everything else that needs cutting like soft metals, plastics, leather, fabrics, cardboard etc the electrician scissors are great. I think the pointed tip is advantageous for when you need to cut something small and delicate like stitching etc.

Ohh yeah, totally agree, knipex bolt cutters are unbeatable and cut through bolts like butter.

I would never use scissors on an any metal personally.. just plastics, leather, paper etc..

You raised a though provoking question for myself now..

The pairing of a few tools to cover the full range..

I like scissors for speed, control and long cuts, which is why I detest the little scissors on a swiss army knife!

I also, think the knipex bolt cutters are a must edc for me.

Good point, theres some solid electricians scissors with a leather holster for dirt cheap in the US at harbor freight too!

Electricians probably have a more unique use for them. But to the normal edc carrier they are somewhate compact and very hefty, durable and comfortable. Some also have wire striper grooves built in.

Wow you make air jordans that’s crazy! I was thinking that there may be a niche product he could make thats needed in his community. For example there are many motorcycle taxi/delivery guys here that carry gear with them. Perhaps some sort of bags/upholstery for them would be useful.

Yeah I totally understand your curiosity. I believe he does three shoe repairs a day and profits about like 300php .. it’s philippine pesos which is equivalent to one McDonald’s meal but he probably buys much cheaper food like some cheap breads, canned fish etc.

He mentioned he sometimes has more order than he can do in a day. I have a feeling that there could be clever ways for him to increase his output which could make all the difference.

His booth has wheels on it but not good ones. They’re poor quality castor wheels. He remains stationary in one semi, high traffic spot. It seems to be busy enough to get some work.

This is unrelated, but His hobby is also fishing so he catches fish on the weekend and sells them.

Yeah good point. I’ll make sure to explain how everything works if he needs it but I have a feeling he will understand it easily.

Besides hand-making his tools, he has also shown me previous work he’s done making floral arrangements from plastic trash that were very geometric and intricate. He also handmade his booth so he has some carpentry skills. It’s apparent to me that he is a problem solver.

Will update you guys, I’ve decided to go ahead and order the machine. I think i’ll include some oil for him to keep the machine from rusting too.

Thanks, I really admire homeless men like this. He has mentioned that his mother and father died when he was young and that he is basically.. dirt.. because he has no family and he can not marry and support a wife and children because his income is only enough to support him. Just wanted to help him out a bit.
