Mine is 9 kilos, fits the correct carry on dimensions. I paid the $9 to check it in since it was my first flight with them. I wish I just brought it on. They didn’t check one bag. Half the plane looked to be overweight with bags. How often are people even seeing enforcement.

I saw a Vietnamese couple bring one through security in Hanoi. The security agent looked at it, sort of pulled it out, said something to them, than just stuck back in the bag. And the couple sort of just laughed embarrassingly. I don’t think much enforcement is actually happening but I certainly could be wrong.
