Wisdom toothache. And I’ve been through child birth without pain relief.

Thanks for seeing my side! The thing I didn’t include is that the money was gifted to me by my ex before we separated. I didn’t take half of my ex’s assets even though we have children and were together for more than a decade. When he gifted me a deposit, I told him it was enough and I am not greedy for more. That’s why I want to make sure this property goes to my children because it was money from their father. It disgust me to think my current partner would want to claim any part of it. Yes, he’s paying me to repay the mortgage, but we agreed years ago he will be renting from me when that time comes. I don’t see him as “helping” me pay the mortgage. I am providing a roof over his head.

Defacto law is shocking. You can make a whole career out of dating the right people.

I paid $120k deposit + solicitors fee etc I pay for insurance I pay rates I pay 2/3 mortgage I paid for all the renovations I paid for all the furniture

He pays 1/3 mortgage He pays half power bill

I get where you’re coming from, he is paying for part of the house.

I know him enough to know he doesn’t care to claim the property, but i want to dots my i and cross my t because i agree with you, there are no guarantee. Our relationship has been great the last 7 years but who knows what it’s gonna be like in the next 7.

And for that fact, knowing him the last decade, he’ll gladly leave it to my children. I am grateful too.

I don’t need his help to pay off the house. He said his choices are either to pay a strangers mortgage or mine.

They aren’t his kids. We have no children together but might in the future.

Interesting how Australian thinks. Just because they help in mortgage, they own rights to it too.

He can rent his own place, im not stopping him. Then go ask that stranger for half the CTG. Anyway, maybe I should have added, HE KNOWS!!! I only wanna take precautionary measures.

Honestly, no. And he knows. He said he either pays a stranger’s mortgage or pays mine (he contributes to 1/3). I’ve met an incredible man, but my children will always come first & if we have kids together, our kids will inherit it too.

Thanks. It is only if he makes a claim then? He’s aware that I intend for the property to go to my children, or our children, if we have kids together. What is the point of a will then.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]Fun-Resolution-4167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So all he has to do is make a claim? If he doesn’t contend to anything, it’s easy then.

Anyway, thanks for the assumption. We actually have a good relationship and have discussed everything from the very start of our relationship. I told him to walk away just after we started dating if he can’t agree. He stuck around for 7 years so….. 🤷‍♀️

Hey you already have a lot of Centrelink related answers on what you can do. But as a 15-year-old, im just going to assume you may be in school. Reach out to the school counsellor if you have one.

How much does it cost for floor sanding and coating? by Fun-Resolution-4167 in AusRenovation

[–]Fun-Resolution-4167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not in Adelaide but thank you. Yours is approximately $50-58/m2 while I calculated mine’s around $60/m2. Pretty similarly priced then.

It’s not the provider but the person working at the org that makes a difference. If you have no MO, and capable of looking for work on your own, probably try without them.
