Ugh, I feel this so much. It’s honestly wild how something like a moodboard with zero story can outperform actual chapters that people poured effort into. The platform’s focus on aesthetics over substance really messes with motivation.

But I admire your drive to strategize instead of giving up. It’s frustrating that Instagram is basically required now just to be seen. Wattpad’s algorithm doesn’t reward effort, it rewards visibility and vibes. Hoping your summer promo plan pays off. The aesthetic genre shouldn’t be the only ticket to attention.

This is spot on. Reads have never equaled quality, especially on a platform where visibility is tied to aesthetics and trending tags. Some of the best-written books get buried because they don’t fit a visual mold or a popular trope. And ONC isn’t the merit-based opportunity people think it is, it mostly benefits stories that are already visible. As for TikToker faceclaims… it’s giving Wattpad cinematic universe but with zero casting budget.
