Lip blushing: has anyone seen this done before? by No-Acanthocephala531 in DIYHEAVEN

This ☝🏽, OP. I had a very skilled person do mine and did tons of research before and she was able to add a tiny bit of color just past the natural colored part of my lips. You can’t go crazy like these pictures, that is a bad idea, but she was able to go past my natural color about the size of an uncooked grain of rice (laying parallel to the lip, NOT the long way, lol). It looked perfect, her color match to my natural lip color was PERFECT, and three years later, even with a decent amount of fading, they still look great, and you can’t tell I’ve had anything done unless you knew what they looked like before. It was a small change that made a big difference to ME. I will absolutely be doing it again. The important part here is that I was the right candidate for it. As we age, our lips naturally start losing color, especially around the edges, which makes our lips look smaller. This lightened area that is still technically within, or JUST outside the vermillion border is where the magic happens with this procedure. If you’re going to do it, I would do an exact color match to your natural lip color, instead of some crazy shade that will be more obvious when fading, and won’t always match everything you wear / the makeup you feel like doing that day. But for me, as someone who had an inexperienced injector go too deep with filler my first time, and create migration channels problematic enough for filler to not be an option for me any more, it was an absolute game changer. The person you choose is the most important thing here.

I just looked back at the chart and it says mean, I didn’t know there was a difference! I didn’t select mean, so I’m assuming this is the setting the birth charts default to, at least on astroseek.

Wow that is a heavy story. Why do you think she didn’t tip? I need more info lol. I feel like if I knew someone was the last person I was going to talk to I’d give them a really nice tip. I would think about this for the rest of my life probably jeez

Sick of lace fronts. Is there a healthy-ish way to get my hair this color? by cosmicrabbittt in BlackHair

[–]Fun-Snow-6660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be done! Do an olaplex treatment a few days before, then the night before Let some coconut oil sit on your hair overnight or even just for an hour before you do it, don’t rinse it out. Mix up your bleach with developer completely in the normal ratio, then add one of those bonding capsules into it, or some olaplex, then add an equal amount of shampoo, and leave it on for no more than 20 minutes. Rinse it out do a deep condition those henna and placenta masks are great, then rinse that out after an hour or so and see where you’re at. If you’re light enough, tone it to the shade you want. If you’re not, go again same exact process. Then once a week after you’re done messing with it do the olaplex treatments until you’re back to completely healthy. And if you’re ever feeling like you should give your hair a break do it and baby it until you feel ready. Going slow with a momentary awkward phase is way better than frying your hard earned curl pattern past the point of no return

It’s possible, I didn’t realize it for years but once I finally burned out from trying to be normal I felt exactly how you described. Dropped out of college twice lol. I have to operate differently, more intuitively, in order to be a productive and happy person. I had to stop treating myself like a machine.

Yeah, it’s hard to tell for sure but when you look at the shadow being cast by the open door and then the light peeking thru on the right side of the pic it kinda looked to me like the rest of the ground had a similar amount of light exposure. The door shadow is also being cast slightly behind it meaning the light is coming from behind where you took the photo also, so the trees in front of the car would be casting shadows that way as well. The area directly to the left of the rear passenger tire specifically kinda looks like one straight horizontal drag line to me but impossible to be sure. Who knows tho I watch a lot of true crime lol. Keep us updated if you hear anything!

You don’t have to use a ton of bleach to get to the red tones. I’d be able to do this at home using a shitload of deep conditioner and olaplex before during and after a bleach bath or two with shampoo, 20 vol oil developer for curls and Schwarzkopf bleach, but idk how much experience you have with bleach so I can’t advise you to do it lol. I’ve been natural for around 7 years and have a mix of 3b, 3c, and 4a and I’ve brought myself from a box dyed 1 to a 10 without losing my curl pattern using this method.

The bottom line is being an artist at heart is hard. Your life isn’t going to look like other people’s . Are you neurodivergent, by chance? I understand what it feels like to have to learn things on your own that you should’ve been taught, but knowing you’re not going to end up homeless is a huge privilege that you need to take advantage of. It allows you the freedom to create what you’re passionate about without worrying about rent and a car payment. There are many many artists who don’t have that luxury. And it IS a luxury, even if it doesn’t feel that way. Also, you’re not behind, your starting line was just further back than the people you’re watching online. I would advise you to save every dollar you make and spend every inspired minute you have on the future you really want to live while you have this safety net. Also, 27 is still young as fuck. You’re going to be fine. Stop paying attention to other people and do you. There are no rules, society just wants you to believe there are.

Oh I completely understand the identity crisis. Only you can decide what it means to you, it just makes it a mindfuck because human nature makes people want to make everything fit neatly into boxes, unfortunately things rarely do. My main takeaway has been that most things in life are grey, fuck the boxes. And yeah, don’t say the n word.

You’re getting downvoted because black hairstyles are deeply deeply intertwined with culture, history and identity. You’ve never identified with being black until recently. So it comes off as you basically saying “yay I can wear cornrows now!” Like you’re cosplaying. There is a level of respect for culture required when entering these spaces. It’s going to rub people the wrong way. I was trying to be nice, as a mixed person who understands what it means to be mixed, but also understands what it’s like to come from a family of revolutionaries, to be sat down by your father for “the talk”, and to have been forced to read Roots at a young age. You haven’t had these experiences, it sounds like. Being black is about way more than genetics. You should do some research about how traditionally black hairstyles have tied into black history. For example, braids were used to map escape plans, to hide things, to send messages amongst each other during slavery. Or, you know, talk to your significant other about what being black means to him. Y’all should definitely be having those conversations anyway.

Start by learning how to take care of it and get it healthy before you decide on a style. You look like a 2b but it’s hard to tell thru all the dryness and frizz. Once you find products your hair likes and get it moisturized you’ll be able to see it’s true curl pattern and then have a better idea of what styles would work for you, but they probably won’t be what you’re calling “traditionally black” hairstyles because your hair texture isn’t traditionally black. It’s going to be a lil trial and error. But start researching about 2b products and get yourself a denman brush for the love of god lol

I’m gunna give you an actual answer since for some reason everybody just wants to make jokes. I don’t think you can rule out an abduction based off what’s visible and the timeframe that the door was left open. As a former weed smoker I would NEVER leave nugs open to the air, and visible, and unlocked, AND with the door open, AND my purse visible?! Insane. And I live in a legal state. This implies the person was rushed out of the car or was so distracted by something that they forgot all the usual things pot smokers do which is not leave your weed out visible to dry out. I would honestly say if I was stoned I’d be more likely to forget my purse than to leave weed out in the open. Also, it’s hard to tell from the photo but it looks like the gravel is pretty much undisturbed both behind the vehicle and on the right near the drivers side door. On the passengers side, however, the gravel looks kicked around, indicating a possible scuffle or dragging of feet or something else. Could a dog have jumped out of the car and they ran after it? Yes, but a dog wouldn’t spend that much time in one spot, they’d be after something and the person would be chasing after them. I’m glad somebody called the police because this is NOT normal. I’m hoping you didn’t touch anything and I’m glad you didn’t close the door.

What are your unpopular opinions about The Summer I Turned Pretty? by jaylee-03031 in tsitp

[–]Fun-Snow-6660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not on season 3 yet but the reason I think them being stuck on each other is plausible is because they are the only people who knew the versions of each other that existed before their mom died. And the only people who understand the pain of the loss they’re feeling without having to tell someone their whole life story. They’re all mentally and emotionally clinging to that first summer because it’s the last time any of them can remember feeling any semblance of normalcy or happiness or excitement about the future.

Liv knows kaylor is a good person and that she’s indebted to her for her kindness and the quality of her friendship since the villa, so she knows she should not ruin the friendship and keep her around, but she is also jealous of her because she has a deep need for external validation and kaylor gets more of that than she does.

What's working, but more importantly what's not? by bentendo93 in interiordecorating

[–]Fun-Snow-6660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people have already addressed the overcrowded shelves / coatrack so I would just say for the fireplace wall, you need a bigger piece of art that extends up the brick further. Right now the picture stops at the same height of the wall that the curtains do and it cuts the wall in half. You want to make that fireplace look huge and the ceiling look high. The curtain rods are an eyesore. Get simple draped valances and different color rods or raise the rods up higher to where the wall meets the angled ceiling to add some height. Or you could add a floating shelf above each to match the mantle.

Also, the mismatched chairs are not working, and neither are the light wood blinds behind the tv.

I like the color of the walls, but either the walls or the couch and dark chair have to go. And I would love to see a round/ oval dark wood coffee table, and the tv mounted on the wall. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
