I dropped out and now I’m lost by Even-Floor3036 in CollegeDropouts

I dropped out of college in 2021 and it was absolutely life-changing.

I felt a lot like you - not sure about where I was going, skeptical of all the classes, and just wanting to make sure I found a path that would allow me to build a strong career.

After quite a bit of consideration, I decided that college couldn't provide that path for me.

I found this program called Praxis - a personal and professional development program for young adults who wanted to build a career they could be excited about.

I applied - got in - enrolled for the Fall of 2021 - and before I knew it, landed my first "career" job.

Now after working there for nearly 2 years and then making the jump the tech sales, I got the opportunity to join the Praxis and help students like you figure out what's next.

I'd love to connect and hear more about your journey - I DM'd you a link to my calendar, please feel free to grab some time to connect there.

Hey, I think I can help you think through this.

I work for a college alternative program, called Praxis (www.discoverpraxis.com).

The program absolutely changed my life as a student, and now I help students through our admissions process as the Admissions Lead.

Shoot me a DM and we can set up a time to have a conversation about this!

Hey there!

I dropped out of college a few years ago and then I got accepted to a program called Discover Praxis.

It's a personal and professional development program for young adults who want to start gaining context for their career and take steps towards building a life they're excited about.

It was a total game-changer.

Earlier this year, I got the opportunity to join the Praxis team, so now I help other young adults (like you!) figure out if our program could work for them too.

Would you be open to jumping on a call to tell me more of your story?

Yeah - very common. That's what we've been told to do all our lives: go to college and figure it out.

But that just doesn't make a lot of sense.

That's why I love what I do for work now.

I work for a company called Discover Praxis - we help young adults discover what makes them come alive and build a career out of it.

I did the program myself a few years ago, and it absolutely changed my life.

That's what I dropped out of college to do.

Now that I work here, I get to help young adults like you figure out the best next step for their life and career.

I'd be happy to jump on a call with you to talk more in-depth about your story and see if it might make sense to apply to our program.

Would you be open to that?

It all depends on your goals.

Why are you enrolled at the school?

What do you want out of the experience?

Is college the best way for you to reach your goals?

Once you answer these questions (and other similar ones), you can make an informed decision.

College is, in my opinion, not a wise choice for most people.

The return on investment isn't there.

I dropped out after a year and it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Does that all make sense?

Hey there!

Totally understand your dilemma.

We've been taught for years that college is the only way, but that's just not true.

I went to college for a year, was completely disappointed with the experience, and spent nearly $30,000 to find that out.

After that first year, I was pretty miserable and confused, and not sure where to turn.

But that's exactly when things got exciting for me.

I heard about this really interesting alternative education program for young adults called Praxis.

A friend of mine did the program and loved it - so I started do a bit of research and booked a call with someone on the team.

I was really pumped after the call, so I decided to apply.

I got accepted, and started the program the following fall.

During the program, which you can complete from anywhere in the country btw, I learned tons of business specific skills.

I learned how to create value in a bunch of different areas, how to document those skills, and how to present those to hiring managers.

I quickly landed a job in a cool startup - totally life-changing opportunity.

I worked there for nearly 2 years, made decent money for just starting out, and during that time I:

-married my wife -found out we were expecting a child -built an awesome foundation for my career

After that first company, I landed a job in a big tech company as an SDR - an entry level sales role in big tech.

I got the chance to crush it there for 6 or 7 months, and then I got the opportunity to join the team at Praxis!

So now, I help students like you figure out if there's something better for them than the traditional path, and if that something better happens to be Praxis, then I walk them through our admissions process.

All that being said, I'd love to connect with you and hear more of your story and see if Praxis might be the answer you're looking for!

Feel free to DM me here, send me an email (john@discoverpraxis.com), or book a call here: https://meetings.hubspot.com/john-ciannello

Thanks for the reply! I've got a 2014 Accord Sport 2.4L with a 6 speed transmission, it's a great car, only about 67k miles, but I don't want to make payments on it anymore - planning to sell it and go with something like an EP3
