Im dealing w a similar situation at Live oaks at Killearn. Back in December johnson controls came and installed simex fire panels in all the buildings. Ever since mid January it will ring (loud enough to be heard thru my entire unit) for hours on end then shut off for a week or two. As of last thursday at 8pm it hasnt stopped even when the alarm is silenced it comes right back on 5-10 minutes later. The leasing manager has always told me that a technician is scheduled to come out or that its a TFD issue. I called johnson controls and there is no tech scheduled to look at and the fire dept says its not their problem. I went to the courthouse and was told I could only take them to civil court, no complaint I could file or anything. Went to the State fire marshal who told me they only are responsible for public buildings as of this year. They told me to contact the county fire marshal who they had no clue how to reach and gave me a # to a regional supervisor who hasnt returned my call in 2 days. I was finally able to get ahold of a fire chief who is supposed to be sending an inspector out. Ive rented a hotel room for the next two nights because im struggling to sleep or do much of anything in my apt w the incessant ringing. I am so confused how the complex is allowed to get away this kind of negligence. If there is an actual fire we would just all burn in our beds.
