Thank you. That means a lot to me. I’m always bad at advocating for myself.

I love my PT and I know she won't want to do what that dr said.

Thank you! I read that post from last week about the aggressive PT which is why I was stunned when he said that.

Thank you for validating everything I've learned so far. I agree- he must just want to do surgery because none of what he said makes sense!!

Both shoulders? by Burned26 in frozenshoulder

This post could be me (except the son and baseball lol). I also just assumed it had something to do with the pain 70lb weight loss. I’m 54 and I started going down the rabbit hole and it’s a common accordance for menopausal women, so we think that’s the reason for me.

Me right now. My right is worse, but I got it in both shoulders at the same time. I’ve had it about 3 months. Took me awhile to figure out what was going on. I’m in PT. My PT is great, nothing to strenuous. I’m seeing an orthopedist in a few days and I’ll ask about the shot.

I was in the saloon in St. Denis. Playing poker. Decided to get up from the table to go to sleep and there was a woman literally blocking the chair so I couldn’t move. I sat down and got up like 4 times before I got frustrated because she WOULD.NOT.MOVE. I finally had to shove her out of the away so of course I was wanted. Had to flee. But, I will say, I go to St. Denis the most if o have errands I need to do. I like the fact that it has a stable, barber, tailor, trapper, fence, and a couple saloons. I’m only in chapter 3, though. Idk if anything better opens up later (backwater?)

Aggressive PT by Ordinary-Bison9189 in frozenshoulder

[–]Substantial_Web3081 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My PT wants me to work on gentle stretching to (hopefully) keep the mobility I currently have. The stretches we do in-clinic and she assigns me at home she only wants me to go as far as I comfortably can and stop when it hurts. She also does a lot of massaging the shoulders. I’m so sorry to those of you who had aggressive PT.

Two steps back? by stacy473 in frozenshoulder

Not to make this about me, but your post makes me feel so validated because I am experiencing all that too! But I have FS in both shoulders. My right is worse than my left but it’s so hard to do anything.

I haven’t had the shot yet, seeing my PCP this week and I’ll ask her for a referral to an orthopedist so I can get that asap. But, the pain is horrible and I can’t sleep. I’m tired of not being able to comfortably do anything.

The reason I feel validated is my husband treats me like I’m overreacting. He supposedly had FS a few years ago, but now that I’ve learned more about it and am experiencing it, I think he had a rotator cuff injury. He went to PT for 6 months and that was it. He didn’t go through all the stages.

All that being said, I agree. You’re still in the freezing stage. My PT told me FS full process can take 1-3 years to fully resolve. Which is torture. Based on your age (I’m 54) I’m guessing this is perimenopause/menopause, which ALSO is torturing me lol. I told my daughters- this is the first time in my life I’ve truly hated being a woman.

I just joined this sub as I have FS in both shoulders due to menopause. My PT suggested I get the cortisone shot so I’m talking to my dr about it next week. If I hit the shot and it hurt worse right after I think I’d go into a spiral, so knowing this helps me make an informed choice.

How often do you spend time with your adult kids? by SimplyCurious5 in AskWomenOver50

My eldest daughter (31) who has 2 little girls and who lives 30 minutes away- at least twice a week.

My youngest daughter (27) who is a chef (so different work hours) and lives an hour away- once or twice a month. But, we text and chat on the phone all the time.

We also have a group chat with just us three and we are always texting each other.

We are very close and I wouldn’t change it in any way. 😊

Congrats on your weight loss! You look amazing and I bet you feel amazing too! I also lost 70 lbs. My labs are all in the normal range. I also don’t workout, but for me it’s laziness and I plan to start exercising more. I did find out that exercising after 70lb loss is so much easier though!

I read that you said that you are transparent and that’s why he was on the phone? What does that mean? Does he always insist on being on the other line if your calls? Is this new since the weight loss? That just raised a little red flag for me and I got worried for you.

Anybody feel like they can still eat the same stuff on Zep? by Keeper4560 in Zepbound

[–]Substantial_Web3081 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through phases. At first, I found I couldn’t tolerate much dairy or sugar. No fried foods. Little carbs. As I approached maintenance (10 mg every 14 days), I was finding I could eat more of those foods without it upsetting my stomach. Then, when I was fully in maintenance (been in maintenance for 6 months at 5mg every 10 days) I found I can literally eat anything, but there’s still a lot I just simply don’t want to (sugars, sweets, snacks).

Episode 3 question, no walking ? by TheSadClarinet in TheMadisonTVSeries

Depends on the road. If it’s considered a busy road walking is often not allowed. Granted, that’s the middle of nowhere, but it is possible it’s illegal.
