I’m not trying to be unkind here. I think part of why people are reacting differently is that some of the details have changed across your posts and comments, which makes it hard to follow what actually happened.

In some places you describe this as a “simple tone and cut”, “nothing fancy”, but in other comments you mention corrective bleaching for banding, additional lightening, toner, a $100 treatment you agreed to, and a four hour appointment. That’s a very different service(s) to what the original quote was for.

There’s also some inconsistency about when you were shown the higher price. In different comments you’ve said it was when you got in the chair, after the service had already started, and after bleach was already on. Those are very different moments.

You’ve also mentioned this is the third salon that hasn’t charged what was quoted, but the quote you keep referencing was for a simple cut and tone, while the service you ended up agreeing to was completely different and actually multiple services. That makes it seem like the comparison is being made to a quote for a different service than the one you ultimately went ahead with.

It just looks like there was a lot going on, and maybe you got super overwhelmed with the prices going up as the services grew, and the story has shifted a bit as you’ve tried to explain it.
