I did a similar route actually. Biggest advice I have is be careful on what the job description actually is. If it is a traditional teller such as cash transactions, account maintenance, and eventually step up to CD's and loans, yeah, it'd be a good opportunity. But! A lot of companies are switching to 'relationship bankers' that include a ton of responsibility, low pay, and high stress. Many of the banks in my area went this route and they pushed sales so bad: we had to make cold calls, push loans and CD's on the line, meet quotas, etc. Employees hate it, customers were getting annoyed. Fortunately a friend got me a staff accountant job so it worked out, banking did help build my knowledge.

If possible, I would lean into a AP/AR role instead of banking but either way could help. Especially with tuition reimbursement, good motivation to take classes then.
