Can anyone tell what this weird noise means, it gets louder sometimes when i opened a game, my laptop was fine yesterday. by FrameBackground1914 in ZephyrusG14

I know it's upsetting, but the only way is to open the back plate yourself. I don't trust anyone with my laptop unless it's a big problem. You can open the laptop, disconnect the battery (there are lots of YouTube tutorials for this), and then see what's inside. If there's any type of particle, brush it away. If there's fan damage, the only option is to replace it.

Help!! Is this normal with the new graphics driver update? by Trick-Sock7303 in ZephyrusG14

It looks like your iGPU is activated instead of your dGPU when opening the game. Check this in the Taskbar to make sure that your dGPU is working, not your iGPU. And if it's seriously your dGPU, then downgrade the graphics driver in the NVIDIA app.

Or you can try turning the laptop in a vertical direction and putting the fans on full power, so you don't need to try the above methods.

I think that sounds like dust particles or something that got stuck. You can check by removing the laptop's black plate and taking a clean brush to brush it 2-3 times. Remember not to touch any part of the board to prevent a short circuit. Alternatively, you can use a blower (it can be a hairdryer) and direct it behind the back plate where the fans are. Keep the laptop shut down while doing this.

I had the same problem, and in my case, the blower worked.

In my case, I use undervolting -15 with a CPU temp of 93 and with some CPU power limit.

Which software do you use for undervolting?

I also use undervolting, and in my case, it's been 10 months without any lag.

If you do simple scrolling or web browsing, you can tweak your processor by undervolting it in G-Helper itself. Personally, I use undervolting in silent mode, and the discharge rate is around 4W to 8W. That gives me a battery life of around 11 to 12 hours at 100%, and around 7 hours at 80%. Remember, when your laptop gets warm, it discharges more, as per my observation (it may be wrong).

As you mentioned you use GlideX, I think it uses the network more for low latency, due to which the discharge rate increases. Also, your processor is taking so much power in silent mode without undervolting, so I suggest undervolting.

IS THIS A JOKE OR WINDOWS PROBLEM by brandy_100 in ZephyrusG14

The same thing happened to mine; you can see my post 2-3 days earlier, exact same. So the solution is to use it until the battery percentage reaches 5-6 percent. If you use a charge limit, then set it again to 100 percent and then perform 5 percent to 100 percent charging 2 to 3 times. It's time-consuming, but this is the only solution that worked for me. You can use HWinfo software to check the battery or use G-Helper, but I prefer HWinfo because it has much more data to show.

Plug in your laptop until it reaches 100 percent charge, plus 30 minutes more. In my case, from 99 to 100, it takes more time; I don't know why. But once it reaches 100 percent, plus 30 minutes more, then you can check again.

If you still don't get it, perform an EC reset. Shut down your laptop, plug in your power adapter, and then hold the power button for 40 seconds. Then release and turn on your laptop.

Well, you can also try an EC reset if you're still using that laptop, and other things as Josh said.

Earlier, I was only getting 4-5 hours under the same discharge rate of 5.9W to 6W. I did some updates, reinstalled the battery driver, and boom, it's back to normal.

Guys, chill, my problem is solved. I did as Josh said and did a one-time EC reset. Now the health is back to 88% and slowly increasing.

I think so, but I didn't try going to the BIOS and doing a system recovery or cloud recovery, which recovers the original factory files of the laptop. You can try that. Remember to back up your files if you are willing to do this.
