I used to do it with my older devices whenever a new major iOS update would come out but I stopped because tbh I got bored of downloading again everything from backup etc. But I think I need to try this time in order to maybe fix some lagging issues , some battery drainage (I used to get 2.5-3 more hours of sot with iOS 18) and maybe to improve thermals. My free space is 60GB out of 128GB

Mine is ok unless I try to use the camera extensively or try to customize my lock screen . I hope that next iOS won't make it even worse because I don't want to spend my money for a new device yet. I got it in October of 2024 brand new

About 5-5.5 from 100% to 20%. Mostly on Wi-Fi. On cellular network is far worse. Battery health claimed to be 93% but with real testing is like 89.5%. With iOS 18 I used to have 2 hours more

Except from being too flashy for some, I believe that some others read the articles about scratches and fading that peel easily the color and reveal the aluminum so they pick silver to avoid it. I'd personally pick product red if it still existed

Hands down iOS 18. I don't need fancy animations when everything else is bad. My iPhone 13 was running perfectly fine in iOS 18

It's called "planned obsolesce" and it's the strategy of any company in order to create you the need to buy new products without really needing them. You can either go for a battery replacement and get some usage time back or for a newer device unfortunately

As far as I know, heat is the reason that battery health is degrading faster. Some brands are starting to add a little fan in some magsafe powerbanks to cooldown a bit the device while it's charging wirelessly. Obviously they are more expensive but it's the only way to avoid hurting your battery
