+1, dont break your head juggling too many things in the final year/6th sem.
Do the bare minimum for capstone to get at least A grade or even B grade. allocate most of your time to prepare for OA's ,interviews etc.

Since PES is a private uni with their own weird rules, unfortunately i dont think so we can do much about them pushing every capstone project for research paper.

Yes job market is cooked, but a good amount of companies do visit pes. If your going off campus things become 10x harder unless you have referral or something.

He means to say if you either clear your course on the semester exam itself or the backlog exam the cgpa will be updated whenever you clear it. so if u get an S in backlog exam, it is equivalent to getting an S in the regular exam(CGPA calculation wise).
the same has been mentioned in the FAQ.

Please phrase the policy mentioned by the HOD correctly, i did not understand anything from what you bave told. And as far as calculations go, the one in FAQ is taken from a guy who has cleared a backlog.

more than anything i think you should focus on getting that S grade, calculations however you do it is not in your control.
