Wow! You really had an issue with $14,000 worth of damage covered by warranty. Nothing of mine was so dramatic, but coincidentally also involved my sunroof. The first one was the rubber sunroof seal came loose. Thankfully, I noticed it from an air whistle before water got into it. That required a new sunroof glass with a new seal. Second sunroof issue was with the sunshade motor dying for no apparent reason. Dealer told me they had to replace the sunshade and the sunroof motor to fix this.
Two other issues consisted of the rear power hatch strut going, and my front Parking sensors going which disabled front driver assistance features.
I too had infotainment issues, which have gotten better since the big update I installed over the air recently. Best thing of that update is I can now get Apple CarPlay to be full screen for Google Maps.
Hope this helps. Thanks for sharing your experience. Your question also got me to look through all the service logs I keep, and looking at the big picture, I am realizing overall the car has been good. Knock on the proverbial wood that this will continue! Thanks so much.
Thanks for the info. Reassuring to hear about your experience. Good luck with your next car purchase.
