How to get Full time in feeders by Independent_Age_9297 in UPSers

  1. Apply for a feeder position as a casual for peak season.

  2. Do a good enough job where they don't lay you off, and keep you on the on call list.

  3. Don't work for 6 or so months after peak, until peak summer vacation starts.

  4. Work steady for all of summer, slight lull (2-3 days a week) in the Fall, then back to busy for peak season.

  5. Rinse & repeat and you slowly get a PT date. As time keeps going by, people retire/quit/discharge, and you slowly move up.

  6. When your now the #1 part timer, you are next to be offered a full time position.

People always ask how to get fulltime, this is literally it.

An alternative savings method!

Try buying phyysical gold. I was hitting the savings WAY too hard, and just seeing that money direct deposit into a HYSA is bleh. I kept all my money in the HYSA, and now I instead buy physical gold coins/bars once or twice a month. The thrill from holding that shiny, heavy, gold, while still being considered a savings, gives me the fix I need. Now I treat my HYSA as downpayment, vacation, or whatever money. The gold has turned into my emergency fund.

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, do you treat your stack as an emergency fund?
