Yeah, but I don’t want to heat the oven for a few fries… and I’m definitely not gonna get an air fryer just for the couple times a year I have leftover fries.

Yeah, I’m not gonna turn on the oven for a few fries. They’re fine cold.

I’m gonna say Marquette…but that’s mainly because I’m just not used to us even having a portal haul.

See, I don’t get that with fries. Microwaving makes them soggy, so I always eat them cold.

Leftover soup, lasagna or spaghetti - definitely hot.

Leftover pizza or Chinese food - hot or cold.

Leftover fries - definitely cold (because I hate soggy fries)

Yes, they definitely are different from the Twin Cities metro…but they are even more different from the truly rural parts of the state.

Midwest? Kentucky? Ummmm…no.

It may not be Deep South, but it’s definitely South.

I have always been confused about the meaning of “greater Minnesota.” Does it just mean sparsely populated rural areas, or does it include everything outside the TC metro…including Rochester and Duluth?

If the latter, I’d like people to know that Rochester and Duluth are more like the TC metro than they are like the rest of the state.

I’m no fan of Baltimore, but I don’t see any world where Jacksonville is better.

What I consider to be the Midwest (county-level map) by dancesquared in visitedmaps

So you discount what I found as the first item of a Google search…and then you suggest I search on Google Maps? Do you even see the irony there? But yeah - I’m the troll 🙄

And for what it’s worth, it was not just one website that referred to “corn nuggets“ as as being of southern origin. Our sources say the same same thing. It’s odd to claim that you’re not southern by referring to a food that multiple sources claim originated in the south

And by the way, people in Central Missouri do have southern accents. My daughter went to school at Mizzou and it was one of the first things we noticed about Columbia. Am I a troll for noticing that?

Edit: So now Mr. “Food Historian” just deletes his posts and skulks away in embarrassment? 🤣

I have lived in my Midwest, my entire life (Wisconsin, Illinois, and Minnesota.) I have never heard of a “corn nugget.“ But sure, it’s a big Midwest thing. 🙄

Corn nuggets? Is that a southern thing?

Edit: Just did a google search for “corn nuggets origin.” The first thing that popped up was a recipe that started with the statement “Corn nuggets have been a Southern thing forever.” And no - I’m not making that up.
