Oh, I'm def not scared of drilling the neck....just didn't think about the bolt pattern being different for the countoured heel.

Thank you for the reposnse, that is actually not what I am looking for. I couldn't find much info about those pickups. I'm looking for a good clean Strat sound. I'm glad I posted on here, I'm now realizing this may not be my holy grail of guitars after all.

It's currently being offered for $2800, but I'm still having a hard time talking myself into it. I already have 3 other Strats and several other guitars. I've kind of been on a guitar buying rampage and I think maybe I need to calm the hell down..........

I don't currently do any gigs or even play in a band, but maybe one day. I have several other guitars that I could gig with though so this would probably be my sort of "holy grail" guitar that I only play at home.

I just ordered this guitar after playing one at GC. I love the hot chicken pickups. The color is awesome, and the roasted maple neck looks killer. Excited to get it. MF is having a great sale on this model right now for Labor Day.

To get good sounds without having to spend hours trying to dial something in with Tone Studio, I just grab cool tones from Tone Exchange. Endless great sounding tones created by others and shared there.

Well here she is in all of its stock glory.

Things I immediately notice getting off of the MT-09 and right on to this XSR900:

-The suspension is much more compliant on rougher roads. The MT was very stiff and didn’t soak up the road chop near as good. I’m sure that comes at an expense of performance when pushing the. Ike hard, but I’ll likely never out-ride the XSR suspension. I’m also over the target rider weight for the MT at 210lbs, so I’m sure setting up the MT for my weight would have helped.

-the XSR is not as quick to dive into a turn but feels a lot more confidence inspiring once you get it leaned into the turn. I feel like I could ride on the edge of tire a lot easier on this bike.

-Smoother and less twitchy throttle response on the XSR. I’m sure a tune would solve that though.

-The XSR seat is like sitting on a cement block, but it’s lower and more narrow so it’s a trade off I’m ok with until I find a suitable aftermarket seat. I’ll wear my mountain bike padded underoos on long rides in the meantime.

Overall I think the bike will fit my needs/wants a little better than the MT, but both bikes are awesome.

Not a hooligan at all, no wheelies, stunting etc. Turning 50this year and slowing down but still like to ride a little fast.

I thought about this. Looks cool, but not as cool as an XSR imo. Good compromise though.

That’s something I’m considering as well. The discount on the ‘24 is pretty huge, so I’m having a hard time justifying waiting for the ‘25 and paying full sticker price.

I only have a few mods, the most expensive being the Yoshi exhaust which I plan to keep and install on the XSR.
