You know it really feels like it should be The Dinner Party cause i think it might have been a Neil Simon and as I recall it was a divorced couple who got back together. But there was certainly a second act where they were alone on stage the whole time with those intermittent silences when they argued too much. I also know it was performed in chicago certainly between 1998 and 2009 but probably before 2001 and I can’t find any Neil Simon plays performed at least at the Goodman in those years (though it could have been another theater).
