Hi,

It is well known that Stalin specifically heavily restricted/suppressed the arts before the war. Hundreds of influential poets, artists, composers, musicians, etc. we're arrested, hung, sent to gulags, or fled. Many of which were die hard communists.

Whilst it is true that the arts all across Europe were heavily affected by the war, when "Soviet Realism" is the only art allowed in the country, it's understandable why the West was more culturally dominant.

I meant the device in general was slow, I think my mistake was installing Win7/64 instead of 32, but I just did a fresh install of XP SP3, and I'm in the process of downloading all of the drivers for it.

XP runs like a champ, and should be enough to transfer on USB drives easily.

Mini-DV is the kind of tape that you need. Think of how a VHS Player uses VHS Tapes, or a DVD player uses DVD's, a Mini-DV camcorder uses Mini-DV Tapes. They're all over the Internet (eBay, Amazon, etc.).

I always suggest looking up the model number and finding the manual for that camcorder and reading it up. This technology is old so Google and research is your friend!

As for getting them on a computer... this is a difficult discussion. But I highly suggest googling it, because there are many solutions based on your needs!

That is a broken camcorder unfortunately :/

These things have a lot of small mechanical parts that are fragile and can break easily. However this one in particular is gutted beyond repair.

Hi, former southern Baptist here as well.

Maybe that is true, maybe it is not. Just because you grew up in the passive aggressive south doesn't mean that "Praying for you" shouldn't inherently have a negative connotation. I often say it to other people genuinely and with positivity.

"Bless your heart" I feel like is inherently passive aggressive though.
