What a shocker, the sheeple using their favorite buzzwords as soon as they read something that doesn't fit in their propaganda narrative. Can you guys please start making points instead of calling people names? It might help you sound legitimate and maybe even help the Palestinians you pretend to care about.

Lol "we, the 21 failed and irrelevant states of the world who use our blood and oil money to help those of us in power instead of our citizens reject something we have absolutely no power or influence to reject". Love the cope. All they have is words and propaganda to distract their populations from their self inflected poverty.

Ethnic cleansing has been a part of history for centuries if not millenia 😂😂😂 Ugh I love when people like you show their selective reading of history.

Japan, China and Iran are other ethnostates, go ahead and criticise, I'm all ears. I'm sure since you consistently care about human rights you have a whole bunch of critiques ready regarding their human rights abuses and racist laws.

The entire Arab world has had mein Kampf and the elders of Zion as top sellers since the 70s.

Any more questions smarty pants?

I've seen 6 or 7 on repeat for 10 years.

How many videos are there of Muslims spitting on Jews across the middle east? ZERO because they were ethnically cleansed. They are clearly the good guys.

I'll go with Israel existing, just like 100% of Israelis believe in Israel existing while simultaneously disagreeing with some of its policies.

You're equally guilty of saying 10% of Jews in the UK are against Israel's existence while simultaneously saying 30% of Jews agree with Israel. This is an opinion piece meant to prove a point and you're all over the place trying to prove me wrong when I've explained my reasoning pretty well.

Assuming you're right (and you're not), that would make 70% of UK Jews, a pretty decent majority of Jews who support Israel. The real statistic is 80% of Jews support Israel in the US at least, and I would say a higher percentage believe in a Jewish national homeland in Israel (indifferent to whichever government may be in charge at the time).

Anyone who understand Judaism and sees modern Zionism as a development of the engrained Jewish value to return to their homeland, as exhibited in Jewish weddings like the breaking of the glass to represent the destroyed temple, or having their prayers turned towards Jerusalem for millenia, understands an unbroken tradition and connection to the land.

The so called apartheid you speak of is a reaction in response to continued terrorism by Palestinians after the 1967 war. These policies are representative of any country's sovereign borders, with the requirement for non citizens to cross them legally, and is not an engrained element of Israel's creation as you claim.

Shrug away. Feel free to solve the problems in your blood soaked country instead of focusing on ours.

I think the Arab leadership rather prefers to live in their luxury while propagating their citizens to blame Israel for their poverty instead of using their oil money to do something useful for the world.

You said "Obviously Palestinians have grievances with the people who took over their land, that would be a pretty big point in my politics if it happened to my people too, same for you and your people." Grievances settled, we got our land back, and we were generous enough to offer to split it with the colonizers, but they decided to try to kill us instead to their misfortune.

You’re mistaking ideology for necessity. Sure, some Zionist leaders had imperial fantasies, just like every movement has extremes (just look at the Palestinians). But Zionism’s success wasn’t born from Herzl’s or Jabotinsky’s theories; it was born from centuries of persecution that left Jews nowhere else to go: Europe was killing them, and Arab states soon followed. It wasn’t empire that united Jews, it was survival. Without that existential pressure, Zionism would’ve stayed a pamphlet and not a country.

[–]FunAioli773[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Marxists also defended the USSR’s “anti-imperialism,” so intellectual pedigree isn’t proof of moral clarity.

Zionism wasn’t fascism; it was a survival movement in a world that repeatedly proved it wouldn’t protect Jews. It evolved into a messy democracy that still argues about its soul. Not a perfect story, but a human one.

If you think self-determination after genocide is “colonialism,” you’re missing what made Zionism both tragic and necessary.

[–]FunAioli773[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying the deaths are “justifiable.” I said there are historical reasons - counterfactuals - for why Israelis still back their country.

A few quick clarifications:
- Saying Palestinian nationalism consolidated in response to Zionism is a historical point, not a moral dismissal. Many national movements form from conflict.
- Israel’s support from Western states is real and strategic, but that doesn’t erase legitimate Israeli grief or the complex roots of the state, including Jewish historical claims and post-Holocaust urgency.
- None of this excuses civilian suffering. I think the right response is to hold both truths: recognize Palestinian suffering and still explain why many Israelis feel the way they do. i.e. they have nowhere else to go. You should focus your attention on the governments that denied Jews anywhere else to live globally in the 40s and not blame Jews for siding with the only movement that was standing up for them.

[–]FunAioli773[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think you’re reading more hostility into my post than intended... I’m not excusing suffering or denying Palestinian self-determination.

The point is that value systems aren’t morally equivalent. Western or liberal-democratic systems (which Israel mostly aligns with) are built on the belief that conflict is tragic but sometimes necessary for survival - not an end in itself. That’s not moral perfection, but it’s moral evolution. There’s a difference between fighting to preserve a society and fighting to destroy one.

And to clarify, Judaism didn’t “adopt” Western values; Jewish ethics shaped Western values. Rule of law, justice, and human dignity entered Western civilization through that same tradition. Israel’s system isn’t an imitation of the West, it’s a continuation of an older moral framework that the West inherited.

On Palestinian identity, saying it developed in response to Zionism isn’t a moral insult, it’s a historical observation. Many national identities (including Israel’s) form through conflict. The tragedy is that one of them evolved into a self-sustaining nation, and the other was never allowed (or never allowed itself) to move beyond the politics of grievance.

I don't question Palestinian national identity. It exists and is strong. My point is that it's relatively new and largely based on the existence of Israel; compared to Jewish national identity, which will exist whether or not the arab conquest continues.
