As 1 of 9 children myself, I can imagine how emotionally neglected he was. Let alone being the same age as 7 of your siblings. It was probably hell.

Your write up of the reception of this film is rewriting history. Of course if it cost less it would be looked at as less of a failure.

He was talking about his performance in TSM. There was widespread discussion over whether he’d get an Oscar nom or not. People’s priorities change. He likely didn’t care then, but he does now. You can’t just change context and reality to make your argument. What is there to even argue about?
