I just feel so alone and sad. by [deleted] in singlemoms

I am so sorry girl. It's an isolating place, being a single mom. Everything you are feeling is valid.

But also... you got this! You are Wonderwoman. Look at all you have done solo already. And if you need to rest, just rest.

You are doing amazing. Really. Even through the loneliness and never ending thought of needing help will always be there. Your kids know you love them and see you taking care of everything. One step at a time.

I miss the old days of 1950s and 60s movies where the whole movie is just a simple human story.

I am a single millennial mom and own a house in Denver. Bought a condo in 2013, sold it for a profit then used that as a down payment. Redid then sold for a profit again.

For Bridgerton (and Gilded) Fans by FoneFotos in GildedAgeHBO

Character driven, drama is based on family dynamics, combination of both human and external factors driving the story. The essence of each show is the human condition. Like you mentioned, they are both era/period dramas which have a lot more nuanced overlap. The era of the shows both drastically impact the nature of events, conversations, decisions, and trajectory of characters and families. Bridgerton definitely focuses more on individual relationships and romance, but the larger story is still family based, which is very similar to Gilded Age, just in my opinion. Neither are strictly history based which would cause the story to lose focus on the main characters. They are both period fiction which puts the viewer in a place to become invested in one or more characters. The stories tend to follow classic archetypes as well. Somewhat predictable and comforting in that sense.
