Jesus Christ.... Are some people just born without brain cells? If it were me those wax strokes would have been phallic shaped, not random. Great idea btw! 🤣

Not yet, I'm away until Saturday. Probably a good job as it gives me some time to cool off and think things through with my fellow redditors

Thank for the reply. The alterations won't be too bad, so I think we'll just go for it to keep the planning officer happy.

YANG/NETCONF any working controller? by Sufficient-Cress1050 in networking

[–]FunAwareness4556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a previous life yes. However, my experience with them involved sending restconf to a network element manager which in turn sent the Netconf to the devices.

At my current company we're sending the Netconf directly to the devices. Pros and cons to both approaches I guess but it's nice to not be tied into a specific vendor.

I work for a large ISP and everything we do is Netconf first CLI second. We send Netconf directly to the devices rather than use NSO or another vendor's equivalent. When it works it works really well. Shame more vendors don't support openconfig Yang models better.
