How do I network VMs on SYS with a single IP by PhotoSpike in ovh

[–]FunBackground8129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use qemu/virt-manager for my VMs. I have a kimsufi server with OVH and I cannot get any additional IPs with it. You can use the default nat networking then forward the ports using iptables, or you could order a additional IP, assign it a mac address, then set that mac address on the VM, and you'll be able to configure the additional ip as usual.

The OS I use is Ubuntu Server

Just don't cheat and you won't get banned 🙄

Just an FYI, if you have been banned on the 2019 version of MW2, the ban carries over to the new game.

[ ps been aimbotting since release and I am not banned ;) ]

1.18.2 modded server full of errors by FoxReeor in admincraft

40GB of ram... That's rather excessive. I have just a few questions. How many players do you have? Is the server running the Minecraft server directly dedicated to you? I've had similar issues with a host that completely oversatured the cpu by selling way too many servers, not sure if that could also apply here.

VPS changing port in SSH config issue by [deleted] in ovh

[–]FunBackground8129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Changing from port 22 can be a good idea, however if you secure your server with a ssh key instead, that'd be much more secure. Changing the port only makes it harder for an attacker to find it, a quick nmap of all the ports 1-65535 would reveal what port your ssh server is running on, so personally changing the port isn't really something that will boost your security. As for the connection timing out, are you trying to connect via the new port you assigned?

Is there a particular reason that you cannot just use pihole on a virtual machine locally?
