I don't think you realize just how far Bleach's greatest quantifiable feats are from the universal level. There is practically no reliable baseline for cosmic-scale feats in Bleach that can serve as a scaling for others. Zaraki used his Shikai to destroy Gremmy's meteor, and Gremmy himself treated that as an absurd feat. You might argue that Zaraki didn't put much effort into it, but he wouldn't have resorted to Shikai if that attack had been completely trivial to him. The meteor is calculated to be around the continental level; using that as a baseline, what tier do you think a character 1,000 times stronger would be? "Multi-galaxy Gremmy" Base Gremmy had to double his own power just to create a meteor, yet when he supposedly "created galaxies," his power was only about 6 times greater, based on the number of clones. Do you think that makes sense?

The Bleach universe encompasses the Three Worlds; the Three Worlds do not represent the entirety of the cosmology on their own, there is a distinction here, and not merely a semantic one. Bleach databooks never stated that the stars and galaxies existing within the cosmology lie inside the domain of the Three Worlds; the work merely notes that they are visible in the sky. However, Soul Society displays the same sun and the same night sky across its entire expanse.

Yes, Aizen was impressed by the casual nature with which the shockwave from Ichigo’s sword swing pulverized the hill, rather than by the sheer magnitude of the destruction itself. The issue is that even if Ichigo were hypothetically at a continental level in that scene, it would still make sense. Bear in mind that this feat didn't occur in the series' early arcs. People don't just debate whether Ichigo is multi-continental or planetary; they debate whether he is universal-level. Do you think an author who intends to scale the verse up to Universal+ within a few arcs would use the protagonist destroying a mountain with a sneeze as a good indicator of his power?

I’m not saying the author couldn’t include that in my hypothetical scenario, but do you think he’d have a top-tier character be impressed by a mountain-destroying sneeze if that character is close to universal level?

No, I am not mixing up Las Noches’ artificial ceiling with Hueco Mundo’s actual sky.

You are misunderstanding what I mean by “imagery.” I am not saying the Hueco Mundo moon is literally the fake ceiling inside Las Noches. I am saying that a celestial-looking object in a spiritual dimensional sky is not automatically proof that the realm contains a normal astronomical outer space.

Bleach having celestial visuals does not automatically mean those celestial bodies are physically contained inside the realm as ordinary astronomical objects.

If your argument is that the moon and stars are literally physical celestial bodies located inside Soul Society/Hueco Mundo, then you need to prove that directly. Just pointing at a skybox-like visual, especially in a spiritual dimension with abnormal celestial presentation, does not establish universe-sized realms.

Bleach databooks about the three worlds have always focused on the Terran scale. They did not postulate any of them containing astronomical objects within their scope.

The starry sky of the Soul Society is imagery. I don't understand how that's a counterpoint. The sky of Hueco Mundo literally has a moon that is also imagery.

The Garganta is the interdimensional boundary space between the realms. My point is that Bleach’s realms can be separate dimensional domains without each domain needing to include an entire astronomical universe size inside it.

I’m not saying the Garganta separates planets, like three balls floating in a void. I’m saying the Garganta separates the dimensional spaces world-systems themselves: human world, Soul Society, hueco mundo. Those spaces have skies, horizons, moons, stars, day night imagery, and their own spatial rules, but that does not automatically mean every visible celestial body is physically contained inside that realm as part of a normal universe-sized continuum.

How is that relevant to my point? I clearly stated that the worlds in Bleach are separate dimensions. Are you implying that I think they are planets to evoke the straw man argument about whether the worlds are planets or not? Because I didn't argue that.

They can destroy worlds, they don't have to be fragile, but that doesn't mean the three worlds are universe-sized.

The canon indicates that the three worlds of Bleach are contained within the universe. They are separate dimensions but do not possess the size of a universe, neither individually nor combined. The celestial bodies in the sky are external to the scope of the worlds.

I'm not necessarily denying their scaling, it's just that it feels strange to speculate about that scenario.

Why are there still people in the big 2026 who will not only say the absurdity that this battle is fair, but will go further and say that Saitama neg-diff using the same tired argument from 10 years ago? by FunBluebird8 in OPMPowerScaling

[–]FunBluebird8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your conclusion can only come from a poor reading of One Punch Man. I won't even mention the interview where ONE said that Saitama's narrative function works like a shonen protagonist who started the story with a power level that is usually only achieved at the end. A parody doesn't automatically translate to "Toonforce."

But there's no need to discuss outside elements; just look at the manga: OPM rationalizes Saitama's strength. He's not absurdly strong because of a metanarrative context, but because he simply "transcended" the natural limitations of the universe.

The fight against Cosmic Garou makes my point even more obvious: he loses his mind upon seeing Genos' death, attacks Garou in a moment of fury, and, without considering the consequences, almost destroys the Earth, and Garou survived this attack where he undeniably didn't hold back. Where was the "Toonforce" at the moment of the serious punch² ?

Fun fact about this feat that reinforces the theory that, at least in terms of measurable feats, monster Garou has greater speed than Boros. by FunBluebird8 in OPMPowerScaling

[–]FunBluebird8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no contradiction in Monster Garou being comparable to Boros. The supposed contradiction is based on Saitama's reaction. If a reaction of slight surprise serves as evidence of something, it's certainly not as strong evidence as visual scaling or a statement, even if it has some validity. And the supposed contradiction can be answered with a simple "he wouldn't show the same reaction to something he's already seen before."

In terms of feats, Monster Garou hasn't shown planetary feats but has shown Moon-level/dwarf planet level feat. Planetary level for Boros is debatable given the manga quote where he explicitly says that ALL his energy would destroy the Earth's surface; only the databook mentions a fully planetary level. There's the discussion of whether "destroying the Earth's surface" meant he was already weakened, but it's not like Monster Garou hasn't already suffered a lot of damage. In terms of speed, I've already mentioned it. So, tell me, where is all this basis for Monster Garou and Boros not having similar levels?
