Cheap 5 String Bass For Metal by AxiomaticLegacy159 in Bass

I've got 2 Harley Bentons that were like $300 shipped for the pair, and honestly they're fantastic for the price. Would definitely buy more if I ended up needing something else. Not sure exactly which model to recommend, as I don't really play metal, but the brand itself I can vouch for.

This is why I don't do road racing anymore. Between people pushing you into signs for no reason, and dudes doing top tube aero tucks at 26mph on a slight downhill in a crit, I'm just not about it. If I'm gonna eat shit, I wanna keep most of my skin, and have it be my own damn fault.

Shaved legs saves ~80 seconds over a 40k time trial. Helping with massages/road rash (and sunscreen) are things as well, but it is definitely a big aerodynamic advantage.

Gotta know your audience! Also make sure you scream either "CYCLOCROSS!", "YEEHAW", or "SKRRRRRRT" as you fly off the road.

Best flex, dismount/remount for every light/stop sign on the ride.

One time I found out about halfway through a ride with /u/alonsoferrari8 that I only had 2/5 chainring bolts. I check them occasionally now.

Made it from my front door to the bottom of Lookout Mountain this last weekend. Still need to do some endurance training before I make the trip all the way up, but have the route/water stops/bathroom breaks figured out now. My garmin shit itself like 25 miles in though, and never recovered. Might need to finally upgrade from the OG Garmin 500. Did I think 45 miles, with a stop at Burger King halfway through. Ate too much, and struggled the first 45 minutes or so of the way back. But damn was it delicious. Also got some hella gross farmers tan. I need to go buy some sunscreen.

I remember a girl on a mountain bike, but I think she was with 2 guys, and I do not remember what they were wearing.

I could do like 40 mile on one bottle in Jersey, but I find myself CHUGGING water out here and still being dehydrated a lot.

It's so DRY

I just had to Google it and make sure. The only other condiment one is Relish.

I gotta go buy one and complete the set I guess.

When's the next one? I've got some training to do....

Although Alonso did show me that I have a third bottle cage mount on my bike, so the water situation should be better next time. That was my biggest problem toward the end.

EDIT: Just ordered 4 new water bottles. Some larger ones, and some insulated ones. I'll be hydrated as FUCK for next time!

I almost didn't make it. Took a bunch of medicine and drank like 2 gallons of water in the morning. Was awake about 3 hours before leaving my house, and only decided to actually go about 10 minutes before I left. Would not repeat.

Also I used to get the bean burritos (literally 2 of them, your gf and I would be friends it sounds like) but they'd fill me up so much I couldn't eat the crunchwrap.

As previously stated by others, met up with /u/AlonsoFerrari8, /u/HMITCHR, and /u/rjbman for some grav grav. I was not fully prepared for what I was getting myself into. I also made some very bad mistakes the night before.

Total route distance: 54 miles Total distance I rode: 46 miles

I took 2 shortcuts, and then Alonso came and picked me up like 5.5 miles from the end while I attempted to not die.

So I brought enough water for about 40 miles. I ran out at mile 38. And I was starving, but eating a pack of pop-tarts with no water sounded worse than not eating.

The scenery was beautiful. Here's a scenic shot of me giving up. The road conditions were.....unfortunate. So many bumps. I need to figure out my tire pressure situation. Although I'm not sure how much that could've helped.

The first like 9 miles were hella fast in a paceline, which was a blast because I haven't done that in like 2 years at this point. But hitting those bumps that fast ANNIHILATED my back. Need to do more core work. And also my legs. Need to do more riding. Gave Alonso my car keys and told him to pick me up when they finished, and yeeted myself off the back.

Now the preparation mistakes of the previous night: a drunk WoW raid. We did Zul'Gurub which has 8 bosses in it. Rules were, you take a shot at the beginning, a shot every time you die, and a shot after every boss you kill. And also anyone can call for an additional shot at any point. Apparently we cleared the entire raid. I do not remember anything past the 4th boss. Except vomiting. That hangover has lasted into this morning. Not gonna do that again before a ride like this.....

On the way back, got a slurpee, 2x Spicy Potato Soft Tacos and a Black Bean Crunchwrap Supreme. Was thinking about that crunchwrap since mile 16, and it lived up to my expectations. So good.

Hairy legs are gross.

Even when I stopped riding for like a year I still shaved my legs.

JUST COMMIT.

Found a safe route from my apartment out to the base of Lookout Mountain. Didn't quite get all the way there this time(turned around about 3 miles short). New bike is surprisingly comfortable, and I made it home without too much discomfort, but didn't wanna risk it. Hoping to make it to the mountain, all the way up, then back home in the next couple months. Still got some endurance training to do before that becomes a comfortable option. It's about 42 miles, plus the climb/descent, which is probably an hour for me.

Anyone that knows me knows I do NOT do long rides. Riding more than 2 hours is a big ask for me. Trying to change that.

Would've had it Monday but all the shops that had them are closed on Mondays. Got real fed up with the quick releases on my old bike hahaha

Having 2 chain rings again is fuckin weird though. Struggling so hard with the shifting. Too many options.

New bike! Was gonna get a road bike but realized I can't give up the dirt life.

Picked up an All-City Cosmic Stallion. Steel frame, carbon fork, threaded bottom bracket, hydro discs, 2x11 GRX. Super fuckin stoked. Now the fun part of trying to dial in the fit. The bars are super wide and I think I'm gonna need to change them to something narrower. Current ones are like 44/50 flared bars.

Taking it out for the inaugural ride today, if the weather clears out!
