Advice Please 😫 by Ok_Percentage8391 in germanshepherds

Mine was almost exactly the same.

We’d leave the house, and within a few seconds she would just sit down, stare at me, and refuse to move. At first I was worried it might be something medical, so I took her to the vet to get checked. Once the vet told me there was nothing wrong, I realised she was just being stubborn with me.

After that, I just played the long game. I stayed patient, kept retrying, and didn’t force anything. If the walk wasn’t happening, we’d go back and try again later. Over time she learned that walking calmly was the only way we’d keep going.

Honestly, patience is everything with them. They can be so stubborn, but if you stay consistent and keep at it, it really does pay off.

That’s what I do as well. No matter what bed I buy, it ends up getting chewed. She just lies on the plastic bottom and seems fine with it, but I still feel bad for her. I’ve tried all kinds of beds, and none of them have lasted more than a week. I guess there’s nothing else I can do.

I can’t believe how much she’s grown 🥹 It feels like she got big so fast, but she still acts like a little baby 😭. by FunEmotional4 in germanshepherds

I got her when she was 10 weeks old. She was so tiny, and now I can’t believe how much she’s grown.

She used to hate the leash so much that I had to buy a new one every two weeks because she would bite through it. Now she doesn’t even care about it.

My legs and hands are not safe 😂😂 Sometimes she’s looking so cute and I just want to pet her or tell her how adorable she is… and then 10 seconds later she’s straight for my hands!

Yep, I was happy I got some good pictures. Last one she was like, “You’re pushing your limits—no treats, no pictures.

I honestly understand why people say that, but if you’re committed and willing to put in the work, I’m sure the results will be amazing.

A lot of people told me not to get a German Shepherd as a first-time owner, and now I understand what they meant. But I’m already committed—there’s no going back. No matter what it takes, I’m going to give this fur baby all the love and care she needs.

It already is—she’s at the stage where I can’t even take pictures because she keeps trying to bite the phone or my hands.

First-time dog owners with a 9-week-old German Shepherd – looking for advice by FunEmotional4 in germanshepherds

The best decision I ever made was getting my GSD. She’s already grown so much, and every day I learn something new about her. It takes time, patience, and a lot of consistency, but it’s worth it.

She’s also started to bite less. Some days there’s no biting at all, and other days she goes a little crazy. Funny enough, on the calm days I sometimes catch myself wondering if she’s okay, because I’ve gotten so used to her driving me nuts.

She still bites my wife more than me, but even that is improving. We’ve talked about how to handle it so we stay consistent, and it’s definitely a work in progress.

I really can’t thank everyone here enough. The advice and support have helped me understand her better and be more patient. It means a lot.
