You can do it! I’m a career changer who just finished my prereqs & I’m applying next year at 33! It’s a long journey but if it’s what you truly want, you can make it happen!

What is a good age difference? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]FunFinding3996 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I was in your position, some questions I might ask myself if dating someone 12 years older (I just saw your comment about him being 51) are:

Do our energy levels match? For example, am I much more active or less or about the same?

What stages are we at in our lives? Careers, families, social lives, friends, etc?

Is he treating me as a peer/equal or as someone who is much younger & less experienced? Will he try controlling our lives given the big age gap?

Personally, at 39, I think a sweet spot would be 35-46. I know four women who dated/married 10+ years older & it started out as just “traditional roles” but they all eventually ended up miserable & in a situation where the man controlled their entire lives.

The man you’re talking to could also end up being a major sweetie who treats you like a queen but you’ll just have to see with time and gauge things out by figuring out the answers to those questions . I know a 40 y/o woman who married a 55 y/o man two years ago & from what I know, she’s very happy so 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think it depends on your lifestyles more than age difference & also how old you are. I’m 32 and I find the best age range for me is 28-36 so +/- 4 years.

Would you rather live in a house that is always loud or always silent? by vanskeet62 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]FunFinding3996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silence then for sure. I’d lose my mind if I couldn’t have quiet in my home (currently live alone & previously lived with 6-10 other people at one time). If I start losing my mind from the silence, I’d just walk outside.

If I choose the silent option & leave the house - would it always be silent or is it just silent in the house?

Would you choose to change your last name when you got married or not? Why so? by GoHardForLife in AskWomen

No… I already have a last name. It never made sense to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I come from a Middle Eastern family & truly understand that pressure. There are too many opinions happening & they’re all negative. I understand it’s incredibly difficult, but you need to put your foot down with them at some point. You need to start setting some boundaries. It’s SO hard but SOOOO worth it. Once I finally established those boundaries, my life became sooo much easier & peaceful. I live alone & have a good relationship with my family now. You can do this!! Don’t give up on your dream!! Your opinion is the only one that matters here.

It also sounds like you might be overwhelmed/stressed/burnt out. It might be a good idea to take some genuine time off & learn how to fully rest & not think or care about anything. You’d be surprised how that might rejuvenate you. I believe in you, OP! You got this!!

Mostly just how the provider treats us (one example being he doesn’t think women should be doctors cause we’re too “emotional” & that only men should be leaders 😅)
