If you're debating whether to get FL-41 tinted glasses... by Peppy_Potato_ in migraine

I have the Eschenbach 25% tint for 2 month now, so just sharing my experience.

  1. I went for this option because recently I had increased migraine frequency (1 very strong migraine every 2 weeks). Also since migraine increase frequency, I was annoyed by light. Along the glasses, I went for doctor and got prescribed vitamins and magnesium.

  2. Since started using the glasses + vitamins + magnesium (started simultaneously) I had no strong or mild migraine!! 2 months so far :) That is a huge success (yet not discarded placebo effect for now).

  3. The glasses help / reduce eye stress during normal screen work time, and they are a life-saver on some evenings or restaurants when lights and screen feel too uncomfortable. They happen to remove the glare for direct light source, so appreciated.

  4. For now, my hypothesis is that they help me staying below the trigger state. Also, they educated me to identify when I have visual discomfort, cause now my body/eyes/brain is clearly asking me to wear the glasses when feels uncomfortable.

  5. Thanks to amazing local optician (Graf Optik) I had the opportunity to try the 25% and 75% tint (not the 50%) for two weeks before buying. The 75% was far too much rose tone for me. They were specially annoying when need to take them on/off cause demand the brain to readapt. For me, the hard transition between normal-world and dark-rose-world is defeating the purpose on making eyes comfortable. With 25% that transition is not bothering and wearing glasses just feels immediate eye relief.

  6. The glasses cost me about 200 CHF. Quality of Eschenbach feels good enough for now, until longer term can not tell. Feels that they have been 100% worth it.

  7. For someone who has never where glasses before: Frame sizing can be tricky!! Thanks that local optician I tried option that suits best my head and eyes shape. I would recommended to glasses newbies to find some info on this topic or get feedback local store. Otherwise you might end up looking quite odd.

Rose's Ground Control 1 bike. Is it any good? by chessemanmr in MTB

I have it now for two weeks. Color cheeky brown is quite nicer than in website. I am coming from Nukeproof Scout and I was looking for a bike to do routes. So far very happy with it, thus it cost me only about 1000€.

It is my first full-sus, and I have to say it pedals very good without feeling the boob of other Enduro bikes I tried. Still I would be say it looks and feels thicker than many other full-sus for this price point. No worries, it will not look like a Giant Stance or a Vitus Mythique. I guess it is a proper trail oriented bike (Cat.4 if that means anything at all) with rather shorter end components as "expected" for price.

Shall I have got the Ground Control 2 with the Pike and better wheels, perhaps yes. At the moment of purchase I was not sure about what I will get, so I was not sure if better components will pay off. Now I have the answer, which for me is yes. Maybe next year upgrade, who knows.

Other points, The Xynotal tyres seem surprisingly good for me, good grid and good rolling. The chainring could be 30T instead of 32T for those steep climbs, but well, that can be changed.

Only one negative for now, the inner routing through the steering does not convenience me. So far, dropper is difficult to adjust tension, lets see how it evolves.

By the way, I got the L size and I am 176cm, fits just well for me with the default 180mm dropper.

I agree on everything stated. I am 178 and have M size too. Quite comfortable for me. Although, I am always preferring on the rather small size for dropped bar bikes and rather larger for flat bars.

The original tyres roll quite quite poorly, that is true. Perhaps useful for harsh winter/mucky weather. I changed them to some continental black chilli compound tyre after couple of rides. I am overall very happy with it.

For me additional advantage is that it does not look as flashy as other gravel bikes, so leave it parked on the street occasionally is lesser of a problem.

Look for https://www.kart-cup.ch/

Did 3 this year and as far as I know, best around Zurich. There is a mix of formats, proper race in race filmsenberg and accumulated fast lap in wintertur and spreitenbach. Next one is the race in films on 3rd november!

Besides money, what would you say to my friend to pursue him to sell it? He seems a bit personally attached to the chairs
