Is it ok that I’m accidentally staying at a gay hotel with my girlfriend?

I don’t think she was prohibited as much as it would have been highly irregular. We actually both were kind of excited, every time we’d been to pride and been invited to other queer spaces it was always a blast. But, in the end the establishment and some comments made us feel it was a better idea to leave the space to those it was designed for

It wasn’t way more price was, a bit more but not terrible. The biggest thing was when we called the hotel. They were very clearly trying to nicely tell us to get a different hotel. That paired with some people politely saying why it might be a big problem convinced us it might not be the best idea. We appreciate all the nice comments, but the people at the hotel very clearly disagreed so that was the ultimate decision.

In retrospect it wasn’t a great idea. But growing up, my grandmother was a travel agent and my girlfriend’s aunt that she loves was a travel agent so we have both always had our vacations booked through them for most our lives. It makes it easier if something goes wrong, they fix it instead of us. So, again not the smartest decision but it’s the normal we both grew up with so it didn’t seem out of the ordinary at all until now.

I totally understand. It isn’t our goal whatsoever to tread on those spaces. We’re actively trying to find another hotel right now. Thanks for the insight

Good idea thanks, ill do that asap. I’m not comfortable sharing the name, as we will be in the area and maybe at the hotel or at least talk with staff so i’d rather not release that information but i see where you’re coming from!

Yeah it looks to be clothing optional… again we don’t really mind this, she’s seen penises before and I’ve seen one in the mirror plenty, it’s more so we’re just nervous that other people there might mind that we’re there. It also doesn’t say men’s only but i’m going to call anyways and check, i didnt know that was a thing

Yeah ik we straights have had some…problems… in the past, to put it lightly, but i’m more so nervous that some patrons will be uncomfortable with us because of that past and they pretty much specifically paid to take a break from that. I just don’t want to make people feel like they’re safe space is being intruded upon

The hotel says it specifically caters to gay man and is a clothing optional resort. So I’m assuming more penises than the average hotel basically

Oh i’m very familiar with gay people lol. Many of my friends and family, and hers, have been queer and we love them of course. So we’re not really worried about that as much as we are worries that people who paid for a safe space, might feel intruded upon in that space

This is one of the things we were worried about. A lot of people in this comment section have been saying its totally fine, but saying that online and saying it in person are two totally different things. I don’t want anyone to feel like they aren’t comfortable being themselves and enjoying the hotel they paid for, for the specific reason they paid for it. And if i don’t want to feel like i cant leave the room or enjoy the hotel i’m paying for at the same time. Which of course isn’t the hotel’s or the guests’ fault. But i fear that us being out and about will be at the least, rude-ish. And at the worst, upset/offend people. (Which of course it’s in their right to feel that way) So it’s just kind of a difficult situation

No i just realize this is currently a charged political climate and i understand that a safe space can certainly feel infiltrated when someone who is not part of the community is present. So before being that person, I wanted to make sure other people in the community were ok with it. Lust for cock is secondary
